1. Battle of Arkansas Post: ( January 9 - 11 1863)


The Battle of Arkansas Post, also known as the Battle of Fort Hindman, was a Civil War
battle fought January 9–11, 1863, as Union troops under Major General John A.
McClernand sought to stop Confederate harassment of Union shipping on the ​Arkansas
River​ and possibly to mount an offensive against the Arkansas capital at Little Rock
Pulaski County. The Union Wins.

2. Battle of Pea Ridge: (March 7 - 8 1862)


The Battle of Pea Ridge was also known as Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, was a major war
during the Civil War, which took place near Leetown, northeast of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
This war was one of the few wars where the Confederate army outnumbered their
opponent. The Union won this war and established Federal control over most of Missouri
and Northern Arkansas.
