Within the Route cables dialog box, you then click New Wire to begin routing wires.
The following options are available in the Route cables dialog box:
• Cables/Wires selection area – Along the left side of the dialog box, this area enables you to view the routed
wires.
• Spool – Defines the spool to be used for routing the wire. You select the wire or wires in the selection area
and then define the spool.
• From/To reference – The Coordinate System from/to which the wire is routed. You can select a Csys
directly, or select a connector:
◦ Select a Csys – You can select a visible entry port Csys from a designated connector. You can also
right-click and select Allow undesignated CSYS, and then select a visible Csys from an undesignated
connector to designate on-the-fly.
◦ Select a Connector – You can select a designated connector, and then select the desired Csys by
name from a list. When using this option, coordinate systems do not need to be displayed, but the

Routing Capabilities
The options in the Route cables dialog box enable you to perform the following:
• You can route multiple wires and then use partial selection for specific wire start and end points. For
example, you can route four wires that all start at the same point, and then route two wires to one location,
and the other two wires to another location.
• During the routing process, you can “unplug” a wire and plug it into a new location by editing the To and
From references. After a wire is routed, return to the Route cables dialog box to edit the routing From and
To references.
