“If only the heart was made of elastic materials, then just maybe it will only bend than break.”

Ever since her last heartbreak, she lost hope that he would ever meet the right man. She saw men as actors who just used a

script to catch a woman’s attention, make her feel really good and then eventually let her fall into the trap of love. She wasn’t a man-

hater; she just thought that every girl’s “dream man” was non-existent. It was literally just a dream---even hers. She lived each day

with a “come what may” attitude; men would appear and disappear for a stretch of almost two years and every story would just end

with her telling herself, “I knew it.”

Khione stood with her principles all the time. She didn’t care if most people were doing such thing; she would still do what she

thought had to be done based on her beliefs. Khione was a graduating engineering student at De La Salle University. She was an

active student leader in their university; she was on the dean’s list, an officer in their professional organization and also a member in

competitions representing the school. Khione is known to be a smart, kind, and friendly woman. In addition, Khione is undeniably

beautiful with a fair skin as white as snow---she’s really like the Greek Goddess of snow, a pair of lovely brown eyes and a short

blonde hair. She always had a smile on her face---even when everyone was panicking and working under pressure. She knew how to

handle situations well; she could be the epitome of optimism. She is happy and contented with her life. She has her loving and

ever supportive parents, jolly and garrulous sister and her friends that she cherished and will forever keep in her heart. Though she

knew that a part of her is still missing. It’s like that she’s incomplete. What she didn’t know was that what she was waiting for is about

to come, her dream man.

While chatting online with her friends about their group activity, a random message from a guy she barely knew came---a

schoolmate of hers. He is familiar for he is Khione’s classmate in one of their subjects, although they are not that close in class. The

guy is a transferee from a province somewhere in Visayas. At first she hesitates to answer, for she is not that close to guys and besides

she doesn’t know the guy that much. After giving herself sometime to think, she found herself typing in her keyboard. She replied to

the message of the guy.

At first they were just talking about their upcoming final examination. They asked questions about their lesson and other

academic related topics.

That short scholastic talk turned to a long and getting-to-know chat. Thyrone and Khione exchanged messages every single

day. It went on for weeks, then months, and Khione observed that things were getting different now. He is treating her in a special

way; she didn’t want to assume, but he was obviously spending too much time for her. He would call her up at night and teasingly

laugh at the way she talked, exchange stories and ask about how each other’s day went. Khione would always whine about what was

going to happen the next day and that it was going to be another long day and Thyrone knew just how to make her feel better. Every

night, they would learn more and more thing about each other. Sometimes they just talked about random things, teased and laughed

like kids. And there were also times when Thyrone left Khione speechless.

“Why do you always bully me? You call just to laugh at me,” Khione asked.

“No, I’m not being a bully. I don’t know how to be ‘sweet’ and I guess that’s my way of showing it. Lambing yun,” Thyrone

answered.

“Ha-ha. Nice joke,” Khione replied, with the thought that men were just actors.

“I’m not joking. You just can’t accept the fact that it can happen,” Thyrone said it in a way that Khione couldn’t find any way

words to rebut it.

Thyrone would always leave her rethinking of her generalized idea of men. Often times, Khione totally forgot it because

talking to Thyrone amazed her again and again that she just couldn’t help but thank God for such a beautiful feeling. She just couldn’t

believe that such man still existed in this world.

July 17, 2017. It was a bright and sunny day and the sky is as blue as the sea. The wind is so refreshing. This is the day when

Khione and Thyrone had finally decided to meet personally. At first they were still shy but then they have adjusted with each other.

That first meet up was followed by another and another and there, they had given a chance to know each other more. They

didn’t notice that they are really getting too close. They spent days together trying new things, making adventures and creating

memories. Of all men, Thyrone is an exception for Khione. Khione had never been this happy ever since that heartbreak that happened

to her. Everyone close to her could really tell that Khione had found her happiness. Her closed heart is now slowly opening again.

She’s falling for Thyrone.

Thyrone was such an amazing man. He had a well round personality which made him all that easier to love. His smile

radiates happiness and could light up anyone’s day. Thyrone is also undeniably smart. In addition, he was a strong type of guy who

always gave his heart and mind to anything he sets out to accomplish. Thyrone is handsome, gentleman and family-oriented. In fact,

he has all the traits that a perfect man can possess. He really is the dream man of any girl.

Both of them shared a lot of similarities. Although they still have differences, they accepted each other’s flaws and

imperfections. They are the perfect two and their love for one another is unconditional.

Everything had fallen into the right place. Everything now seemed to be perfect. Both of them are very happy to be with each

other. After almost a year, Khione then decided to accept the love of Thyrone and answer him ‘Yes’.

“Khione, I promise to be by your side always and to never let us lose our spark. I’ll be your servant, your knight and specially,

your man. I will celebrate your triumphs and love you along with all your failures. Thank you for letting me love you. I’ll make sure

that you will not regret choosing me. I will be a better man than your past, I swear. I will always love you my Princess.” These words

came out of Thyrone’s mouth because of his happiness.

Khione did not control her emotions anymore. She did not notice that her tears are slowly escaping from her eyes. She cried

because of too much joy.

“Thank you, Thyrone. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for everything. You know that I’m afraid of loving again

because of what happened to me in the past. But you are different. I know it’s cliché but I know that you won’t hurt me, right? I’m

now ready to take the risk. And besides I trust you Thyrone. I also promise to love you and be the best woman for you. I love you

too.” Khione answered.

That day is also the day of their graduation. And it made it became more memorable because of this unforgettable moment of

their lives. Their families and friends are also happy for the both of them.

Khione had finally met her possible dream man. He was the only living creature that was close to perfect. He was the answer

to all the hopes and dreams she had been praying for. He was everything, but hers.

The first few months of their relationship became very amazing. They started to dream of their future together. They already

have a checklist of the things that they wanted to accomplish and places that they wanted to see.

Every day is very happy for they are together. Every day they are learning new things about each other and they are accepting

it whether it is good or not. They are so inlove with one another.

The love story of Khione and Thyrone is just a typical one, nothing special. They are just one of the billion couples in the

world. But for the two of them, theirs is the most beautiful one. Their fairytale is the most magical one. Although it is not perfect,

there are also problems that they have encountered, but of course these do not break them instead, these challenges made their bond

with each other stronger.

A year after, another chapter of their fairytale love story is about to end. And of course, another one will eventually start.

At exactly ten o’clock in the morning of July 17, 2013. Five years ago, on this same date they first meet each other in person

and now they are about to enter a new chapter of their lives. Khione is already standing in front of a huge door of the church. It was a

bright, sunny day.

Khione’s hand is already getting sweaty because of the bouquet of pink roses that she’s been holding. Her feet are already

aching because of the high heels that she is wearing. She have been feeling mixed emotions that time. She is don’t know if she’s

should be excited or be nervous, instead. All she knew is that she is very happy.

When Khione started to walk in the aisle, her vision was affected by the blinding light when the door of the church opened.

Because of this, she cannot recognize the people seated in the church’s pew. But after some time, her eyes adjusted and she can now

see the people there. This causes Khione’s heart to beat faster.

I got so nervous

I couldn’t speak

Khione forced herself to cry because it is what she always sees in movies. Every bride has tears in their eyes while walking

towards the man whom she will marry. Even though she wants to reach the other end of the aisle, she couldn’t speed up her pace

because she doesn’t want to be embarrassed in front of the crowd when she stumbles while walking. She thought of heartbreaking

events of her life so she can cry. But in the end, no tears escape from her eyes. So she just enjoyed walking.

In that very moment, I found the one and

My life had found its missing piece

So as long as I live I’ll love you

Will have and hold you

You look so beautiful in white

Before she reached the end, a lady interrupted the wedding. She caught the attention of everyone there. Everything stopped

including the music. The people started to whisper with each other so Khione decided to look behind her. She saw a lady wearing a

wedding gown. Behind the woman, is a man wearing tuxedo. It is her fiancé, Thyrone. After she processed the whole thing that had

happened, there she realized that she entered the different church.

Thyrone grabbed the waist of Khione, rode the Lamborghini and went at the right church for their wedding. While they are

travelling they cannot resist to laugh because of the epic fail that happened.

They arrived at the Saint Agustin Parish Church where the real wedding will take place.

Khione was blinded by the light when the large door of the church slowly opened. As the door opened, she saw many people

that made her heart beat even faster. She was amazed by design of the church. It was filled with pink roses, Swarovski gems and

figurines of angels and fairies. It seems that she’s really inside a fairytale.

When she heard the music, she also started to walk down the aisle.

“Winter snow is falling down

Children laughing all around

Lights are turning on

Like a fairytale come true”

The church was filled with people that have been part of Khione’s life. The people that are do close to her. There are her

friends, coworkers and her family. And also, she can saw familiar faces of Thyrone’s friends and his family. They all looked at Khione

with smiles on their lips. They are all really happy that Khione is getting married to a man she really deserved, man that will never

hurt Khione and a man that will love Khione unconditionally until they get old.

“Sitting by the fire we made

You’re the answer when I prayed

I would find someone

And baby I found you”

The whole thing that’s happening right now was completely surreal. Khione really can’t believe that they have come this far.

They are about to promise to God that they will stick at each other from this day until their last breath, or even in the afterlife. On this

day, they will surrender their hearts and unite as one.

“All I want is to hold you forever

All I need is you more everyday

Khione already reached almost half of the aisle. She looked at Thyrone. He is also staring at Khione. The beat of Khione’s

heart became faster and it came as flashback in an instant everything that happened to them. It flashed into her mind the very first time

they have talked in chat, their first meeting, and their first date. She remembers everything that they have done together. Thyrone wipe

the tears that are also falling down from his eyes. She smiled at Khione sweetly.

The man of her dreams is now waiting at the end of this aisle. She can’t wait to hold his hand and together face the altar,

exchange their vows and put on the rings that will bind them as one. Khione still don’t believe that she will now be married to the man

that she love so dearly, the man that man that made him believe in forever again and the man that promised to by her side forever.

Their happily-ever-after is about to happen.

“You gave your love away

And I’m thankful everyday

For the gift”

Thyrone is about to get the hands of Khione but in a blink of an eye, everything became different. The place a while ago that

looks like a palace turned into a scary place that has no light. An abandoned building that looks like haunted. Everything and everyone

disappeared in an instant. It’s like that Khione had teleport into a whole new different place. Khione panicked for she can’t see even a

single person in that isolated place. She shouted while crying just to know if she is really the only one there. Her voice just echoed in

the place and no one responded. She did not hear anything. Khione looked for a possible exit in the building but she couldn’t find any.

She lost hope and just sat there while crying. She doesn’t understand why and how did she went in this place in a split seconds only.

It’s weird but Khione can’t do anything but to cry.

Minutes had passed and she heard rustles near her. She quickly took a glance and saw Thyrone standing there looking straight

into her brown eyes. He doesn’t have any emotions in his face and this made Khione afraid of him but still, Khione stood up and

hurriedly run to him. Khione hugged him tightly.

“Thank goodness you are here Thyrone! I’m so scared a while ago. I thought I’m the only here. But of course you’re my

Knight, right? You’ll find me and save me. Thank you for coming here. By the way, what happened? We’re supposed to be in the

church right? But how did we come here? It just happened so fast.” Khione asked Thyrone after letting go of the hug. But Thyrone

still wear this poker face of his. And Khione felt that it’s kind of creepy. Of all the questions she asked, Thyrone did not answer even

one. He did not speak a word. Khione became afraid of him but she did not let Thyrone noticed it. “Is there anything wrong, Thyrone?

I know you’re just joking, stop it now because it’s not funny!” Khione is now irritated but Thyrone is just looking at her straight into

Khione’s eyes with no emotion in his face but he finally spoke.

“Who are you?” Khione was shocked with the words that Thyrone uttered. She felt that her heart is tearing into pieces, again.

Thyrone pulled a gun from his back and point it to her. Khione cried out loud and pleaded Thyrone to stop. But it seems that

Thyrone cannot hear Khione. Thyrone quickly pulled the trigger of the gun. Three gunshots were heard by Khione then she fell in the

ground. Everything went black.

“Arf! Arf! Arf!” Khione heard her dog Shawi and opened her eyes.

She was just dreaming.

Khione woke up tears still falling from her eyes. She wiped it quickly and fixed herself for a minute.

Khione thought of what she dreamt about. What happened seemed to be really real. She can’t believe that all of that was just a

dream and it all happened for just one night. And now she’s back in the real world. Where fairytales doesn’t exist and there she

realized that she’s not a princess for her knight and shining armor also doesn’t exist. Those kinds of stories are only for films. And true

love may come in the most unexpected time with the unexpected person.

Khione set aside that dream of hers into her mind. Make herself believe that it is really just a dream and will remain as a

dream. She hurried down the stairs and prepared to go to school.

Khione is slowly walking in their school’s campus. She is not looking on the pathway where she is walking. Suddenly, a man

bumped into her and dropped her books. The man quickly picked up the scattered books on the ground. She got mad and angrily

looked at that man. Khione saw the man’s face and got shocked. She stopped for a moment because she realized that the man who

bumped her is the man in her dreams.

The man stood up and said “I’m sorry Miss, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he offered his hand for a handshake to Khione. “By

the way, I am Thyrone.”
