MRI EXAMINATION OF THE LUMBOSACRAL SPINE REVEALS;

TECHNIQUE:
Sagittal T1 & T2 Axial T1 &T2 MR Myelography

FINDINGS:

-Loss of the normal lumbar lordosis.


-At the level of L4-5: there is a diffuse posterior disc
bulge effacing the ventral aspect of the thecal sac and
encroaching upon both exit neural foramina.
-Normal shape and signal of the examined vertebrae and
their appendages.
-Normal vertebral alignment. No displacement.
-Loss of the normal high signal intensity of the L4-5
disc substance on T2WI denoting disc degenerative
changes.
-Normal conus medullaris.

OPINION:

 Diffuse posterior disc bulge L4-5.


 L4-5 disc degenerative changes.
