EXT. STAIRS - AFTERNOON

A small and brown girl named Basha (14) who is also Muslim teen, wearing her uniform and hijab
climbs up the stairs and sits at her third step. She then brings out a black paper and folds it
continuously to make a paper boat. Upon finishing her work, she looks at it for a while then picks
it up and leave.

EXT. FOUNTAIN - AFTERNOON

Basha is kneeling against the fountain and puts the black boat on the water. She then uses her
hand to support her head and continue looking at the floating boat. She picks up a rock and puts
it on the boat. The boat sinks and Basha puts her hands against her head to support it. She sits
properly and rests her head on her arm. She is looking at her reflection on the water and dips her
index finger on the water.

EXT. PATHWAY - MORNING

Three boys wearing their uniforms are on the pathway. Two of them are watering the plants. One
(14) is tall and fair skinned. He uses the hose and the other (14) that has a brown skin and tall
frame uses a dipper and a pail. The third boy (14) with brown skin and small height is just
standing with his phone in his hand.

The first boy goes near the other . He points somewhere and whispers something. The other
approaches Basha and holds her arm harshly. The first boy akes the pail. Basha, wearing her
uniform and yellow hijab, shockingly struggles. The boy with the pail pours the water over Basha.
Basha falters for a second then continuously struggle to free herself form the harsh grip. Finally
released from the boy’s hand, Basha runs fast, away from her bullies.

BOY 1

Basha-ng sisiw! Hahahaha.

BOY 3
Hahahaha. Maute! Terorista! Terorista!

(Hahahaha. Maute! Terrorist! Terrorist!)

INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING

Three long-haired girls (14) wearing their uniforms are talking and sitting beside each other. The
first one has a fair skin and the others two are brown skinned. The door abruptly opens and
Basha enters. Basha‘s sudden appearance catches the girls’ attention. She sits in front of the girls
and looks down. The girls stand and the first girl sits beside her.

GIRL 1

Anong meron d’yan?

(What’s up in there?)

GIRL 2

Kalbo ka ba?

(Are you bald?)

GIRL 3

Pakita mo nga!

(Show it!)

GIRL 2

Kalbo ka ba?

(Are you bald?)

They are shaking, pushing her towards each other, and pulling her hijab revealing a part of her
hair. She closes her eyes and cling to her hijab to prevent them from removing it while they
continue hurting her.

GIRL 3

Kalbooo!

(Bald!)

GIRL 2

Wala kang kwenta!

(You’re worthless!)

The first girl slaps Basha making her let go of her hijab but then continues to cling to it harder.

GIRL 3

Hindi ka belong dito! Oh my God! Umalis ka nga, nakakadiri ka!

(You don’t belong here! Oh my God! Get out of here!)

The door opens and their teacher, a middle-aged woman enters. The girls immediately go back to
their seats. Basha wipes her tears.

INT. BASHA’S ROOM - EVENING

BASHA’S room is dark. The Qu’ran is on her bed. A picture of Basha and drawings of a crying lady
are posted on the wall along with her medal.

The door opens and Basha enters. She hangs her backpack at the back of the door

She will turn the lights in her dresser on as well as the radio. The news on the radio reports the
war happening between the military and the Maute group. She sits on her bed and removes her
shoes. She then lies on the bed and looks at the ceiling. She covers her ear with the pillow and
closes her eyes. She frustratingly stands and turns the radio off.

She walks away from the radio and enters the bathroom.

INT. BATHROOM IN BASHA’S ROOM - EVENING

The bathroom’s door opens and Basha enters. She closes the door behind her and stands in front
of the vanity mirror. She slams her hands on the wall beside the mirror. She stares at her
reflection, looks down then puts her hands down and closes her eyes.

She opens her eyes and sees the people that hurt her. They are looking at the mirror with anger
and satisfaction in their eyes. The girls put their hands on Basha’s head. She then sees flashbacks
of what they did to her. The boys put their hands on her head too making her remember
everything they did. All the painful words and actions that hurt her. Basha cries helplessly as they
pushed her head down.

BLACKSCREEN

Basha raises her head up away from the water that almost drowned her. Water drips from her
face. She wipes the water and cries.

She hears a cellphone ringing from outside and leaves the bathroom.
