II. SIGNIFICANCE
The Pasko sa Bayuy aims to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ through a
religious cultural celebration within the PNU-Mindanao community and to renew bonds
of love by showing appreciation for each other, build bridges of understanding,
acceptance and forgiveness.
III. OBJECTIVES
The activity aims to:
a. conduct a Parol making contest,
b. decorate the institution for the purpose of this celebration
c. celebrate Christmas season
VI. RATIONALE
The Philippine Normal University-Mindanao Student Government (PNU-
Mindanao SG) is consistently uniting student-leaders for one goal, having one vision of
continuously serving for the interests, welfare and democratic rights of every student.
Part of the realization of its vision, mission, goals and objectives, various activities has
to be implemented by the PNU-Mindanao SG in coordination with the administration for
the empowerment of students.
Christmas Day is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in countries
around the world, including many whose populations are mostly non-Christians.
Christmas is popular because of the secular aspects, such as gift-giving, decorations,
and Christmas Trees. This also shows the expression of gratitude of the students,
faculty and staff to the whole PNU-Mindanao community. This also to take part in the
worldwide celebration where in students, as well as the faculty and staff appreciates the
essence of this cultural celebration.
