multinational conglomerate corporation operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, health care, and
consumer goods. The company produces a variety of products, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates,
passive fire protection, personal protective equipment, window films, paint protection films, dental and
orthodontic products, electrical & electronic connecting and insulating materials, medical products, car-care
products,electronic circuits, healthcare software and optical films.It is based in Maplewood, Minnesota, a
suburb of St. Paul.

If distributors have predictable buying patterns, salespeople could work with them to place blanket orders to
ensure that inventory will always be available and their products will be pulled from stock. The last risk
involved is that there are a handful of national distributors and if they were to lose business of one
distributor, their sales would drop drastically. To overcome these risks, 3M should build close relationships
with their distributors, always pledge to have open communications and avoid any risks mentioned above.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Type

My research is based on the primary and secondary data has been usesd to understand the scope of 3M
business in India and then to make suggestion useful for the company under study in 3M.

SAMPLE DESIGN:-

To collect the data, I am working in 3M Authorised distributor named Needs Services & solutions at the post of Sales
and Marketing Executive for all districts of Jharkhand.

Due to which I everyday deals with B2B and B2C marketing and I got lots of data from the customers as well as
dealers.
Sample Size :- 10

Sample Region :- Jharkhand.

PRIMARY DATA:-

Primary data collection method used was personal interview of the person in change of the income. Though self
administrated questionnaire. The aim of this questionnaire to gather the information of brand 3M reach among
the sami urban consumers and what are the benefits of products and accordingly the perceptions of consumers.
This help to look at the retail business from different perspectives and better suggestion could be given to the
company under study to improve upon the same.

SECONDRY DATA:-

Secondary data was collected though magazines, research papers and Internet .

Questionnaire Design:-

As questionnaire is self administered one, the survey is kept simple and user friendly. Words used in questionnaire is
easily understandable to all respondent and technical jargons avoided to make it most worthwhile without any
confusion to respondents.

3M targets all groups of persons regarding their income .

It contains Premium price for the High income group and economic persons. Such as Car care .Below is the
pricing strategy in 3M marketing strategy:

3M products have a value and competitive based pricing strategy. Their prices depend on countries owing to
the various taxes applicable as well as transaction costs. The product prices of 3M products tend to rise
owing to innovation and competition in the market. The new innovative products are priced at premium rates
whereas older ones vary. Being such a big brand, 3M often dictates the market pricing as it has huge volumes
of products which are being manufactured. This gives an overview of the pricing strategy for 3M marketing
mix.

Premium Pricing :- 3M targets all income groups. For high Income groups 3M launches self 3M Care
washing Centre and many other Products with at high price.

As compare to its competitor price is comparatively High and quality is so good due to which its demand
increases day by day.

PLACE
3M is present globally with operations in more than 65 countries and retailers, distributors in 200 countries
worldwide. Besides stores they are also present online. Being a conglomerate brand they cater to the needs of every
target market they are based in. They have their largest customer base in Europe followed by America and Middle
East. Every 3M customer loves their products and have remained loyal inspite of competition.

They used create new sub-dealers ,dealers and customers. 3M never deals with its end customer and all leads forwaded
to its distributot,dealers and sub dealers. In all the places even in all the districts of India have more then 20+ its
dealers and sub dealers.

The 3M Product uses in according their needs ,offices,Home care , Doctor,Road safety,etc.. and all the sectors where
need to.

3M having a vast range of products focuses a lot on shelf space at stores or supermarkets to attract as many customers
as possible. Their advertising campaign on TV and social media was very successful in attracting millions of
customers’ world over. 3M focuses on marketing its products so as to acquire the best customers in the markets and
this is not only through their ad campaigns but also through the various offers they provide. Before launching any new
product they always focus on protecting the environment and also engage their employees to work for green projects.
The employees also donate a lot of items like books, clothes, etc. to charities annually. Hence, this concludes the
marketing mix for 3M.

He distributes large no. of catalogue to their clients , and customers also with product specification . In internet he
provide all details regarding its product . These days 3M promotes its product in youtube mostly.And provide many
technical helping video.

PEOPLE
Man power is the factor without which no one can grow any company. 3M have 300+ employees with high
remuneration and satisfactory.All human actors who play a part in service delivery and thus influence the buyers’
perceptions; namely, the firm’s personnel, the customer, and other customers in the service environment.

People are the most important element of any service or experience. Services tend to be produced and consumed at the
same moment, and aspects of the customer experience are altered to meet the individual needs of the person
consuming it.

3M provides technical and marketing persons for every states who guides the dealers and distributors regarding
training of marketing and technicals skills.

They focus best services to their customers . The marketing person responsible for sales and technical person for
technical support.

Maximum users of 3M have not any issue in their products,sometimes only there is punching issue and
Pricinghandling issue . The report is up to the mark but due to Pricing

And maximum of its competitor have quality issue,but this issue is very less in 3M Products and also it fulfills the
customers requirements.
SUGGESTIONS

 3M must have to improve in their Pricing ,which can easily buy a economic people .

 It must have a economic Products and economic Pricing.

 3M Work in rural area.

 It should finished the users limitation in their that high range product will be purchased by the customers.

 It must have to open more authorised centres as required ,so that servicing work can be easily done within a
short duration of time and customers have not bear extra charges.
CONCLUSION

In this data analysis I found that 3M product is more demanded as compare to its competitors.

It have a wide range of products as compare to another due to which its sale is also more.

All car care products are satisfactory and uses in all car polish

It gives its important role in security products.

 Now a days as a major projects it is used in various places for cleaning services such as airport,Railway
stations, Metro cities etc.

 Glass cleaner are also very useful for car,office ,Corporate,Schools and Colleges for cleaning glass window
,door ,table glass.etc..
