Intersectionality Artifact

Amanda peters
1.Race/Ethnicity: Caucasian American. I was born and raised in America to a white mother

and father. I had some Jewish and Italian influences growing up.
2.Birth Order: I am the only biological child for both my mother and father.

3.Family Structure: I come from a blended family background. After my mother met my step
dad, I suddenly had four step siblings and a step father. My father went on to remarry as

well giving me one more step sibling and a step mother.

4.Religion: I was born into two different worlds of Christianity, and Judaism. When I was

seven years old I decided I didn’t believe in God and have been an Atheist since.

5. City/State/Geographical Region of Origin: I was born and raised on the sunny West Coast
of Southern California. I moved to Las Vegas, NV with my mother and step father in 2007.

6.Language: I have always spoken English as my only language. Around the house my
mother and step father still through around random Yiddish words. Sometimes my step

dad uses Hungarian words from when he was a child.

7.Education: I had mainstream public-school education all the way through my sophomore

year of High School. I took my G.E.D the following year. I went to community college
immediately following, just to drop out. After taking some years off from school I

rediscovered my passion for education and on track to finish my Associate’s degree soon.

8.Health/Disability: I was often sick as a child. Before having surgery the doctors noticed my
blood work numbers were abnormal. I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases that

impact my life, in varying severity, every day. I still get up and live my life to the fullest no
matter how crappy I feel.

9.Sexual Orientation: While growing up, I was very curious about sexual activity. I was often
in trouble for sexual experimentation while young. I had times where I questioned my

orientation, and even found the same sex attractive. While I still hold an appreciation for
the attractiveness of the same sex, I ultimately landed on being heterosexual.
