ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

With great reverence, I extend my deep sense of gratitude to my

respected guide Dr Deepshikha Agrawal, the director of the institute and

consultant ophthalmologist in Cornea and anterior segment for her advice, able

guidance, constant inspiration, constructive criticism and novel suggestions

throughout my postgraduate study, without whose initiative and enthusiasm this

study would not have been completed.

I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude and indebtedness to

my respected teacher, mentor and co-guide Dr. Swapnil Parchand, consultant

ophthalmologist in vitro-retina and Uvea service in the institute. He has been

the driving force and a great source of inspiration behind this mammoth task.

His vigilant supervision and constructive criticism together with valuable advice

and encouraging attitude has guided me through each step of this study, right

from its conceptualization to completion.

I would like to extend my sincere regard and gratitude to my esteemed

teachers Dr. Samrat Chatterjee, consultant ophthalmologist in cornea and

anterior segment services and Dr. Anil Babanrao Gangwe, consultant

ophthalmologist in vitro-retina services in the Institute for supporting me by

giving a valuable idea of creating a software for data collection.

I also express my thanks and gratitude to Dr Pradeep kumar Chourasia,

the statistician of our institute, who helped immensely in dealing with the

tiresome calculations and statistics.

I am thankful to all paramedical staff members of the institute, especially

Mr Shishir Shukla, Mr Lokesh Sahu, Mrs Sanju Nirala, Mr sunil Chauhan

and Miss Usha Verma for their constant support and help in completing this

study.

I have no words to express my feelings for my loving and caring mother

Mrs Uma Agrawal and my inspirational and kind-hearted father Mr

Laxmikant Agrawal, who with all their hardships have brought me up,

nurtured to where I am today. My heartfelt thanks to my supportive cousins Dr.

Neha Agrawal, Mr Samir Agrawal, Mr Sarang Agrawal, Dr. Vaibhav

Agrawal, Dr. Sanket Agrawal whose encouragement and moral support has

never let my spirit go down and have always been a source of inspiration all

throughout.

I would be failing in my duties if I do not acknowledge the valuable

contribution of all the fresh patients of uveitis without whose co-operation this

work would have not seen the light of day. May God bless them with a healthy

life and good vision.
