TRACK INFORMATION
The tracks we have assembled for Astroman are
forgotten versions, forgotten songs, recordings
that have been left in storage, in studios, lofts, and
basements.
In compiling this set, the false starts, the abrupt
endings are par for the course - they are the magic
moments - the interesting insights - so don’t go
looking for perfect state of the art recordings
(although the quality here is outstanding) this is
Jimi Hendrix - warts and all. Jimi working behind
closed doors - on works in progress.
Sit back then and enjoy this fascinating insight
into the workings of a true sonic explorer.
Enjoy the trip!!

Can You See Me - Alternate version recorded 2nd November
1966 at DeLane Lea studios in London with The Experience. With
money tight the band rehearsed stone free then went into the
studio the record and mix in the shortest time, ‘Can You See Me’
was a rough recording done in the extra time remaining and
overdubs were done at a later date.
51St Anniversary - Alternate version recorded 11th January
1967 at DeLane Lea studios in London with The Experience. This
was the first Experience song to feature overdubbing (no less
than five guitar overdubs on this track) instead of re-takes. 51St
anniversary was formed with Jimi playing songs to Chas
Chandler in the flat they shared as Jimi developed his lyrical style
probably much influenced by living with Chandler.
Look Over Yonder - Alternate early version recorded in May
1967 at Olympic studios in London with The Experience,
originally called Mr Bad Luck. One of the earliest Hendrix
penned songs.
