Artifact Description: MCDS Spreadsheet - Using a spreadsheet to record polling

responses.

What you learned: I’m not very well-versed with programs such as excel or google sheets,
so I was stumped at first with what to do in regards to making this project. However, after
sitting down and actually reading, I was able to make this fairly quickly and easily. It wasn’t
difficult at all, and it made me feel like I learned some new tips and tricks on how to put
together a simple spreadsheet of data.

National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS)-S Addressed:

Standard#7 Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support
students in achieving their learning goals.

Standard #7b Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and
summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to
students and inform instruction.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This would be beneficial in any future
classroom setting where I could be able to input data from taking a poll with my students,
or even work on things such as a personal classroom budget. This would also be a good
idea to introduce students to using spreadsheets for data and have them poll their friends
or classmates about things such as favorite books, colors, or other sorts of things and put
it together.
