The diagram below shows two processes for manufacturing black tea. Following the

diagram, there are eight sentences that describes the main features of the

processes. However, they are presented in jumbled order. Reorder the sentences to

make up a coherent explanation on how blacktea is produced. Write the number of

order for each sentences in the box provided.

The diagram shows two processes for manufacturing black tea.
1. The traditional way is used for making loose tea and the modern  1
process is ideal for teabags.
2. In both processes, natural enzymes are produced from the leaves.  5
3. The next step is oxidation, where the enzymes from the leaves mix with  6
the air.
4. When collecting tea, the tea picker picks only the two top leaves and  2
the bud of each plant to ensure a high quality tea.
5. By this stage, little moisture remains in the tea – just three per cent.  8
6. After that, the leaves are ready for rolling or cutting. Factories use  4
traditional methods of rolling and crushing or faster modern methods of
cutting, tearing and curling to make teabags.

7. This changes the colour of the leaves from green to copper and creates  7
a nice flavour and aroma. Finally, the leaves are fired and dried.

the messy they make. It is proved in the last paraghraph of the text.

A. Public fireworks displays should be paid for with tax dollars.
B. The money we spend on fireworks would be better spent helping others.

I absolutely agree with the author’s opinion, that the fireworks should be banned with
an exception. In fact, the fireworks cause some damages and dangerous to human,
animals and our environment. They can poison the water and pollute the air, thus
harmfull for environment. The number of accidents caused by fireworks is often heard
and alarming. Moreover, money waste for unimportant thing like this should be diverted
to another usefull activity such as doing charity, because there are many people outside
who has not home and hungry.

16. What is the writer’s purpose for presenting the data in this way?
The writer’s purpose for presenting the data is to compare and to contrast the data
about the science scores among 15 year-olds in ASEAN Nations.

17. Can you identify source of the data used in the text? Do you think it is a credible source?
In the top of the text, we can find out the source of the data used. It is PISA 2015. But
under the chart, there is a website address “http//indonesiaetc.com/apparently-42-of—
young-indonesian-are-good-for.nothing/”. If the data is taken from PISA, I think that is a
credible source since PISA is an international survey organization that is recognized in
the world, but when I visited the website address under the chart, it can’t be reached.

18. What is the most ‘striking’ information in the text to you?


The most ‘striking’ information in the text is the percentage of Indonesia score with 56%
at level 1 or below and Vietnam is only 6% for the same level, and at level 4 Indonesia is
only in 2% of science score. The data shows that Indonesia in the bottom position in
science scores compared to the other four ASEAN countries. Responses should focus on
data on either TOP (highest performance) or BOTTOM (poorest performance).

19. Which country is the better performer: Vietnam or Singapore? Why?

I think each of the countries has its own strength. Vietnam has the least number of
students at Level 1 with 6% while Singapore is on the second position with 10%.
Singapore has more students with 52% at level 3-6 and also has the most number of
students at level 6.).

20. What can you say about Indonesia’s performance compared to other ASEAN country?
According to bar chart above, Indonesia’s performance in science scores is the lowest
compared to other ASEAN country. Indonesia sits in the bottom position with 56% at
Level 1, and only 2 % at level 4. However, at level 2, Indonesia in the same position with
Thailand. But the striking information in bar chart focuses on the data in the highest
position and the lowest position.

credibility of the source, but unfortunately the website can’t be reached.

25. Write a summary of the infographic in not more than 150 words.
To keep us healthy, our body needs sufficient water. There are five signs if our body do
not have sufficient water. Firsly, if we do not drink enough water, we will feel hungry
faster. Secondly, feeling tired or cranky. Even mild dehydration causes moodlines,
fatigue, trouble with memory and headaches. Thirdly, check our skin. The skin cells that
are dehydrated looks rough and dry. Fourthly, less frequency of needs to empty bladder
along with dark and strong smell of urine. And the last is checking on how much water
our need daily based on our respective body weight.
