A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in ENGLISH 10

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

K - identify the given materials as primary or secondary source of


information;

S - differentiate primary from secondary source of information


through answering a Word Hunt activity;

A - demonstrate the diversity and richness of our country through


filling out a concept map.

II. Subject Matter

III. Procedure

A. Awareness

- Prayer
- Checking of Attendance
- Brain teaser
Let the class play the FourPics-OneWord game where they will
be presented with groups of four pictures which they will have to
guess what it suggests or as to what the pictures pertain.

B. Activity

Have the students watch the ITS MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES video
campaign.

C. Analysis

Ask the processing questions based on the activity given.

Have them complete the concept map, by group.

Present the unlocking of difficulties.

1. Information - knowledge that you get about someone or


something: facts or details about a subject.
2. Artifact - something made or given shape by man, such as a tool
or a work of art, esp an object of archaeological interest.
3. Manuscript – a handwritten book, poem, or other document, or a
collection of such handwritten documents bound together
4. Memoirs - a collection of memories that an individual writes about
moments or events, both public or private that took place in the
subject's life.
5. Commentaries - spoken or written discussion in which people
express opinions about someone or something. : a spoken
description of an event (such as a sports contest) as it is
happening. : something that shows or makes a statement about the
true state or condition of something.

D. Abstraction

Present the two types of sources of information.

Give the students a series of names of materials and let them identify
it according to its kind.

E. Application
Let the students answer a Word Hunt activity where they will have to
find names of materials which they will also have to classify whether it
is a primary or secondary source.

IV. Evaluation

Group the students into four according to their field of interest. Have
them do the following tasks:

GROUP 1 – News reporting. The group will portray a fire incident


with a reporter delivering a news.

GROUP 2 – Collage making. The group will be given set of pictures


about a particular topic which they will have to form into a collage
along with a short description.

GROUP 3 – Letter writing. The group will have to write a business


letter.

GROUP 4 – Short film review. The group will be shown a short film
of 3minutes which they will to write a review about.

V. Assignment

Instruct the students to pass one sample of primary source of


information and one secondary source of information.

Let them place and paste it in a 1 long bond paper.
