Install Movable Rolls

• Remove corrosion 
protection 
• Wear plate 
• Bearing Housing 
• Toggle/Connecting 
Bar Pins
• Install secondary stage roll 
assembly
• Align Connecting 
Bar and install pin
• Align Toggle 
Spacer and install 
pin
• Install primary stage roll 
assembly
• Align Connecting 
Bar and install pin
• Align Toggle 
Spacer and install 
pin
• Tension toggle springs

Tools Required: Snap‐Ring Pliers, Large Adjustable Wrench for Spring Rod Nuts

Install Movable Roll Cutouts

• Install cutouts
• Drilled and tapped 
holes go towards 
the stationary roll 
(for dust covers) 

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections

Install Movable Roll Slide Plates

• Orient slide plates per the 
roll shaft assembly 
drawings

Install Side Liners

Install Stationary Rolls

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections

Install Tie Bars

• Remove corrosion 
protection 
• Tye Bar 

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections

Install Stationary Roll Cutouts

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections

Install Stationary Roll Seal Plates

• Adjust seal plates so they 
are not contacting the roll 
shaft

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections

Install Roll Scrapers

• Remove the Roll Scraper 
installed and replace with 
the new one with the 
parts that were shipped. 
The new one goes on the 
top of the Frame not 
underneath.  Adjust the 
new Roll Scraper so that it 
does not contact the Roll 
teeth when the Moving 
Roll is fully open in a 
tramp event.

Install Bottom End Plate

Install Interstage Assemblies

• Remove corrosion 
protection 
• Shafts
• Bore of interstage
drive pulleys
• Keys
• Pulley grooves

Tools Required: Wrenches for bolted connections, Torque wrench for locking assembly

Install Flywheels

• Remove corrosion 
protection 
• Shafts
• Bore of interstage
flywheels
• Keys
• Flywheel grooves
