Faculty-Student Interaction Cell

You have already seen the club presentation (I hope you have!) so I will not re-iterate the
points already mentioned.

Some of the important activities and events planned by FSI this year are

1. Faculty Mentorship programme: The flagship programme of FSI, where students

meet up with Professors initially in small groups and then carry the connection forward.
2. Teachers’ Day Celebration: Event with stage performances by Professors and their
kids, in association with other clubs such as Decibel (Music Club), Footloose and IIMACTS.
3. Batch Dinners: Two dinners organised separately for PGP-I+FABM-I+FPM-I and PGP-
II+FABM-II+FPM-II and above, where Professors and students rekindle memories and
share experiences with good food.
4. Community Sports Event: Organised in association with Sports and Recreation
Activities (SARA) committee, with participation from entire IIMA community, i.e.
Professors, Academic Associates, non-academic staff, students and their family members.
5. Faculty-Student Sports Event: This event has been a cricket match for the past few
years, though this year we might have multiple events with different games, if you guys are
game for it!
6. Off-the-record sessions: These are sessions where Professors interact with a limited
audience on some topic, where they would like their opinions to be “off-the-record”.

Some initiatives which we intend to restart or begin afresh this year are

1. Know Your Faculty: A short interview with a Professors where they give interesting
answers to interesting questions.
2. FSI microsite: Revamp of the existing microsite and updates of all events.
3. Faculty mentors for dorms: An attempt to get FSI reach out to the entire student
community and make Professors a part of your dorm family.
4. Collaboration with other clubs for faculty onboarding: Use already established
connections with Professors to keep them abreast with events organised by various clubs
and get them to be a part of some, thus increasing interaction and promoting transfer of
knowledge and experiential wealth.

Any idea which you can contribute beyond those in this list, would definitely be considered.
