The venous color Doppler was done using high frequency vascular probes. The veins were also interrogated
with COLOR GUIDED PULSED DOPPLER and flow dynamics were studied.
The common femoral, superficial femoral, popliteal, anterior and posterior tibial veins were scanned by 2D
ECHO for evidence of any abnormality.
RIGHT LEG:
The common femoral, superficial femoral and popliteal veins were compressible and showed normal phasic
variation with respiration.
Sapheno-femoral and sapheno-popliteal junctions were competent and showed no reflux on Valsalva
maneuver.
Venae commitans accompanying ATA and PTA were normal and showed positive augmentation on distal
compression.
LEFT LEG:
The common femoral, superficial femoral and popliteal veins were compressible and showed normal phasic
variation with respiration.
Sapheno-femoral junction was incompetent and showed reflux on Valsalva maneuver. This reflux
was seen to extend into Common femoral vein.
The GSV is dilated, tortuous throughout its course with perforator seen at the medial malleolus.
Venae commitans accompanying ATA and PTA were normal and showed positive augmentation on distal
compression.
