ABSTRACT

The study entitled “ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF FEEDING STATUS ON


PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE OF CATTLE AND BUFFALO AT THE
GOWSHALA” the experiment was carried out at the Gowshala of BHU at Animal
Husbandry and Dairying , Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu
University, Varanasi . The The findings from this study the farm milk production was
highest in the year 2016 and lowest in the year 2018. Because in the year 2016 highest
milking animal in the year. At the farm crossbreed cows was contribute highest in milk
production in the year 2013 to 2018 and the highest average milk production per
animal per day also. The highest average milk production per day per animal of
sahiwal in the year 2018 and lowest in the year 2014 and highest average milk
production per day per animal of Haryana breed is highest in the year 2018 and lowest
in the year 2014. Highest average milk production per animal per day per animal of
Crossbreed cows in the year 2017 and lowest in the year 2014. Murrah breed of buffalo
produce highest average milk production per animal per day in the year 2018 and
lowest in the year 2013. The feeding cost is highest at the dairy farm it accounts more
than 75% of total variable cost. Second highest cost at the dairy farm was labour cost
and then the other cost. The highest feeding cost at the gowshala (dairy farm) in the
year 2017 was 10429490(Rs). And lowest in the year 2014 was 7479100. In 2013 the
highest feeding cost in the month of March was and lowest in the month of August was
483002.5. In 2014 the highest feeding cost in the month of April was 780900 and
lowest in the month of October was 266885. In 2015 the highest feeding cost in the
month of January was 898200 and lowest in the month of February was 437999. In
2016 the highest feeding cost in the month of July was 885680 and lowest in the March
was 535490.
