TRANSCRIPTION
The 24 years BOSE worked on what it hope would be a revolutionary
electromagnetic suspension system it would offer an incredibly smooth ride for cars, the
secret project was called "project sound".
- You should be able to build a car that basically flies along the ground, stays level all the
time, so when you get a bumpy road it should stay level and when you turn and break it to
stay level.
When we start the project we actually started with a luxury sedan, so we bought two, we put
one to the side and we modified the other.
This is the unmodified vehicle, that is what we are starting with and it is going to come down
and a good rate of speed and then it is going to make a hard turn lane change and then we
are going to do a very hard braking maneuver. Then it will come over these bumps and then
they will slalom back.
So now the white car, same make, same model, same everything, except completely
modified suspension system.
We will bring the cars down one after the other at a fairly slow clip, I just want you to watch
the body motion move.
- To finish the demo, BOSE gives us a look at a springy feature it no intention of putting into
a passenger vehicle but is a fun way how high tech and powerful the suspension system is.
Our visual sensor then of the consents the deficit.
You know it is funny right after we did it the very first time I remember a person asking BOSE
that same question and his answer was: we said when I was six years old I started studying
magic, the first two things they tell you about magic is: NEVER REPEAT THE TRICK and
NEVER TELL THEM HOW YOU DID IT.
In the end the project was a technical succes but a commercial failure, the suspension
system was deemed too heavy and too expensive to integrate into mainstream vehicles,
BOSE was able to use what it learned from the project to create a special car seat for
truckers called "BOSE RIDE", both says it sold lots of seats but is still a niche product for
them.

Durante 24 años, BOSE trabajó en lo que esperaba que fuera un revolucionario
sistema de suspensión electromagnética que brindase una conducción increíblemente
suave para los autos, el proyecto secreto fue llamado "proyecto de sonido".
- Debes poder construir un auto que, básicamente, vuele por el suelo, se mantenga nivelado
todo el tiempo, por lo que cuando estés en un camino lleno de baches, este debe
permanecer nivelado y cuando giras y frenas para mantener el nivel.
Cuando iniciamos el proyecto, en realidad comenzamos con un sedán de lujo, así que

- Para finalizar la demostración, BOSE nos da un vistazo a una característica elástica que
no tiene la intención de colocar en un vehículo de pasajeros, pero es una forma divertida
de alta tecnología y potencia que es el sistema de suspensión.

Al final, el proyecto fue un éxito técnico pero una falla comercial, el sistema de suspensión
se consideró demasiado pesado y costoso para integrarse en los vehículos convencionales,
BOSE pudo usar lo que aprendió del proyecto para crear un asiento especial para el
automóvil llamado "BOSE RIDE", ambos dicen que vendió muchos asientos pero sigue
siendo un producto de buena posición para ellos.
