 1. Installation of Archive Manager

Archive Manager Installation Files are in

\\cpcad\dbs\Technical\SOFTWARES\MISC
SOFTWARES\ARCHIVE_MANAGER\Softwares\archivemanager-v2.0.5.0-base

2. Installation Package

2.1. Setup File

Name of setup file is like “archivemanager-v2.0.5.0-base.exe”, where 2.0.5.0 is the

version of the archive manager software package.

Are packaged in the setup file all software needed to install all components (Archive
Crawler, Archive Poller, Archive Customizer, MySQL Server and some other tools).At
the end of the installation Archive Customizer will start to configure Archive Manager.

2.2. Update compatibility properties of setup file for Windows 7

This section is applicable if you are installing Archive Manager under Windows 7 – 64
bits.

For the update, proceed as follows:

 Right-click on the setup file

 Click on “Properties”

  Go to “Compatibility” tab
 Click on “Modify parameters for all users”

 Tick “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.

 Choose, if not by default, “Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
 Tick “Run this program as administrator”
 Click on “OK” button

 3. Sequence of Installation

It is mandatory to install Archive Manager in the following sequence.

a. OWS1 (Client PC 1)

b. OWS2 (Client PC 2)

c. OISERVM (Server 1)

d. OISERVS (Server 2)

e. DR (DR PC)

 4. Installation and Configuration

4.1 Configuration of OWS1

PACiS Version: System Version: Alstom

Enable Trends: Yes, 6

Master Archive Server: Local

Backup Archive Server: Remote – OWS2

Language: English

OI Server: No OI Server is installed

(Archive Sync must be immediately started)

When you double-click on the package, this window appears. You can check the
version of Archive

Manager

After clicking on “Next >”, a window will show that all software will be installed in
C:\Program

Files\Alstom Grid\ArchiveCrawler.

 After clicking on “Next >”, a window will summarize the location where the
installation will be done.

 After clicking on “Install”, the package will be installed on the PC.

If the installation is run under Windows XP or Windows 7 and if MySQL is

not installed on the computer, the following windows associated with MySQL
Server installation will appear. During MySQL Server installation, MySQL Server,
MySQL Connector and MySQL Tools will be installed.

 Click on “Next >”.

Archive Customizer will then start in order to finalize the installation.

When the complete package and MySQL are installed, Archive Customizer will pop up
to configure

Archive Manager.

 Select the Version and click on “Next”.

Select if you want to use Archive Crawler to draw trends. Select also the number of
graphs (tabs) that will be shown. Select the other options depending on your use. Then
click on “Next”.

 If MySQL Master Archive Server is on the same computer, please select local. Click on
“Next”.

If you have a Backup Archive Server, please select Remote (and give its IP Address
(OWS2)). Click on “Next”.

 Select the main language (English) that is used in the database & on the OWS. Click on
“Next”.

Indicate to Archive Customizer if an OI Server is installed on the computer. If a backup

OI server is installed, please select ‘A backup OI Server is installed’. Then Click on
“Finish”.

 Click on “OK” to update MySQL database parameters. This takes less than one minute
to complete.

 The complete installation is now finished.

 In case an OI Server is installed on the computer, a message will ask if Archive Poller
must be immediately started. Click ‘Yes’ to start Archive Poller.

In case two MySQL servers are configured and we are installing the package on the
computer where the master MySQL is installed, a message will ask if Archive Sync
must be immediately started. Click ‘Yes’ to start Archive Sync (to synchronize both
MySQL databases)

 Click on “Finish” to end installation of Archive Manager.

4.2. Configuration of OWS2

5. First Time Installation Verification in OIS1 and OIS2

Enter the My Sql Server IP Address / Network Name

For OISERVM  Enter OWS1 Update

For OISERVS  Enter OWS2 Update

Verify Events are coming into OWS1, OWS2 – Manually Start Archive Crawler

 6. Final Settings to be carried out

If the verification is correct, you can populate the complete DB

Events Storage = 730 Days

Value Storage = 365 Days this as per customer requirement

Purge CSV Files = Selected.

Also in the DS Agile setup, confirm the database version and path of the database
