given by:
𝑠(𝑡) = cos⁡[2𝜋(2 × 106 )𝑡 + 30 sin(150𝑡) + 40 cos(150𝑡)]

2- If 𝑚(𝑡) is a periodic triangular wave with period 10−3 seconds with

𝑚(𝑡)𝑚𝑎𝑥 = −𝑚(𝑡)𝑚𝑖𝑛 = 1 volt. Find the maximum and minimum values of the
instantaneous frequency for:
 FM with 𝐾𝑓 = 104 Hz/V.
 PM with 𝐾𝑝 = 𝜋 rad/V.

3- A periodic signal 𝑚(𝑡) (shown below) angle modulates a very high frequency carrier.
The modulated signal is given by: 𝑠(𝑡) = 𝐴⁡𝑐𝑜𝑠 (2𝜋108 𝑡 + 𝐾𝑝 𝑚(𝑡)).
If 𝑓𝑖⁡𝑚𝑎𝑥 − 𝑓𝑖⁡𝑚𝑖𝑛 = 100𝐾𝐻𝑧, show that 𝐾𝑝 = 10𝜋 rad/V.

4- For the angle modulated signal given by:

𝑠(𝑡) = 10⁡cos⁡[2𝜋106 𝑡 + 0.1 sin(2𝜋103 𝑡)]
Find:
 The signal power.
 The maximum frequency deviation.
 The maximum phase deviation.
 The modulation index.

5- Determine the modulation index for FM signal with modulating frequency is 10KHz
deviated by ±10kHz. Then determine the carrier swing (the total frequency change).

2 V, 4 kHz sinusoid. Determine:

b. The modulation index
c. The modulation index if the modulation voltage is doubled
d. The modulation index for vm(t)=2cos[2π(8kHz)t)] V
e. Express the FM signal mathematically for a cosine carrier & the cosine-
modulating signal of part 4. Carrier amplitude is 10V.

7- An FM signal is given as vFM(t)=12cos[(6π106t) + 5sin(2π x 1250t)] V. Determine:

a. The frequency of the carrier signal
b. The frequency of the modulating signal
c. The modulation index
d. The frequency deviation
e. The power dissipated in 10 ohm resistor
