SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study was limited to the perceptions and
behaviors on wearing school uniform. The
participants of this study will be the grade 11
TVL-2 of P.D. Monfort National Science High
School for the school year of 2018-2019, located
in P.D. Monfort South Dumangas Iloilo. The
primary purpose of this study is to determine
the perception and behavior hold by learners
about school uniform. To provide an
understanding of this social phenomenon, semi-
structured individual interviews will be
conducted to obtain in-depth responses from
learners who are attending the school during the
time of the study.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In order to attain and foster a healthy and
effective school, students follow the rules and
regulation of the school regarding school uniform.
In addition, students are not hard-headed. But the
reality is many of the learners now doesn’t follow
the school rules and regulation regarding of the
prescribed school uniform and they create their own
uniform. Learners allege such policies are
unconstitutional as they restrict their freedom of
expression. If this social phenomenon continues,
there is a chance that the learners may involve in
trouble because he/she will not be able to
identify. The school will be judge because of its
poor implementation of the school rules and
regulation regarding school uniform. A strict
implementation of mandatory policies regarding
school uniform will directly address the said
phenomenon. The learners will learn to be
discipline and valued the importance of wearing
school uniform. We proposed to study the importance
of wearing school uniform. We will going to
determine the perception and behavior of learners
that triggered them to be involve in this problem.

RESEARCH QUESTION
1. What is the perception on wearing of school
uniform from students who wear complete
school uniform?
2. What is the perception on wearing of school
uniform from students who wear incomplete
school uniform?
3. What is the behavior of student who wears
complete school uniform?
4. What is the behavior of student who wears
incomplete school uniform?
5. How do the perceptions and behavior of these
two populations lead them to wearing complete
and incomplete school uniform?
JUSTIFICATION OF THE STUDY
Although there is an abundance of literature on
wearing of improper school uniform, and despite its
relevance to academic performance and safety of
learners, the researcher asserts that there is
paucity of research in this specific area. In other
words it needs to be explored whether learners
provide caring response on wearing of school
uniform and if so how.
The perceptions and behaviors held by the learners
who may or may not have participated in a school
uniform policy will be explored to determine what
their experience when they are wearing school
uniform. As participants people were choose who
made always wearing incomplete school uniform. In
semi-structured interview, participants will talk
about their perceptions and behavior that triggered
them to be involved in this problem.
From the analysis of the data about wearing of
improper school uniform the researcher analyzes the
data that will be collected in this interview will
be the perception and behavior of SHS students with
regard to school uniform. In this study two sources
of data will be collected individual interviews and
focus group interviews.
Therefore the researchers will use case study among
qualitative research method because, this study
will be dealing a particular person, group or
situation over a period of time. According to Emmie
(2018) a case study is the investigation of a
certain problem or case related to the great
general topic of school uniforms. This is the
reason why the researchers focusing on the above
mentioned areas.
From the findings practical implications can be
deduced. Based on the findings it indicates that
uniforms by themselves have little to do with a
student academic engagement and safety. Students
believe that their teachers play a big part in the
way that they participate in educational tasks.
They also believe that engaging in academics has
great consequences such as becoming a member of
certain school organization graduating from school
and furthering their education.
The nature of this study needs in-depth
investigation and understanding to dig deeper as to
why learner’s gets wearing of improper school
uniform despite the different effective
interventions applied to them. On this note, a
qualitative research method will suitable to
determine the perception on involving in the
problem.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study will be a great benefit to the
following. For the school principal, this study
will give pride and honor to the principal that all
the students of PDMNSHS wearing a complete school
uniform. For the teachers, this study will provide
information to the teacher about the perception and
behavior of student on wearing incomplete school
uniform. For the parents, thus study will provide
knowledge to the parents that if their child
doesn’t wearing complete school uniform they will
not safe at school and it will affect their
academic engagement and parents also aware from
spending too much time thinking about what to wear
of their children. For the learners, this study
will teach learners to become a good role model to
each of learners inside the school campus and to
educate themselves in order to help secure a better
life for the future. It can help learners fell like
they are part of the school community and prevent
unnecessary distraction and issues stemming from
wearing the wrong clothes for school. Providing
school uniforms puts the interest of the student
first as well as nullifying potential social
anxiety over dress and appearance.

CHAPTER TWO
REVIEW THE RELATED LITERATURE
Using models that incorporate understudy and
school fixed-effects beside school-specific straight
time patterns they find that school uniforms produce
advancements in participation and behavior for
understudies in auxiliary grades, especially young
ladies.(Gentile, 2010).
According to Baumann and Krskova (2016),
Uniforms contribute to better discipline in
everyday school operations. They also stated that
implementing school uniforms at schools might
enhance discipline and allow for better learning.

CHAPTER THREE
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
After thorough analysis and research on the
different forms of methodologies, a chosen
methodology will be elaborated and its
effectiveness in gathering data will be discussed.
This chapter will be determinant in obtaining
information and feedback from Grade 11-2 students
taking Technical-Vocational livelihood strand in
P.D. Monfort National Science High School.
Therefore, it would act as a crucial part in the
analysis of the different aspects of the research
as a whole.
The basis of this research is to bring light
and clarity to the problem of School Uniform and
its assessment. This research will also help to
identify variables apart from results to evaluate
the level of the problem. But the first milestone
will be to assess the awareness of the problem of
School Uniform among Grade 11-2 students taking
Technical-Vocational livelihood Strand in the
institution.

RESEARCH DESIGN
Case study method of research will be used in
this study. A case study is the investigation of a
certain problem or case related to the great
general topic of school uniforms (Emmie, 2010).
This study aims to determine the perception and
behavior of school uniform of Gas 11-2 students
