Neely worked as a student teacher in my classroom from January 15—_March 18, 2019. Neely taught all four sections of my seventh grade World Cultures class, and also taught a lesson in my Advanced Placement United States History class. ‘The first attribute that comes to mind when | recall Neely’s time in my class is her total dedication to doing her absolute best. In addition to keeping up with the assignments associated with being a student teacher, she was always prepared in advance to teach the required classes. Her lesson plans were detailed and well- thought out, and always provided to me in time to make adjustments if needed. Neely is open to constructive criticism in an effort to improve her performance, and would always ask for feedback after a lesson, Her self- reflections are detailed and honest. Neely is outgoing and engaging as a teacher. She worked hard to establish a relationship with the students during her brief time with them. She learned names, IEP requirements, and engaged in discussions with myself and other teachers in order to provide the best possible education for each student. Neely participated in weekly teacher meetings to discuss students, as well as parent- teacher conferences, where she gained valuable experience in working with student guardians. 1am absolutely confident that Neely will be an effective and dedicated educator. She is well-studied, personable, and organized. She works hard to engage each student, and works to create an enjoyable learning environment. At the same time, she maintains control of the classroom by establishing clear routines and guidelines for the students. Neely possesses all of the characteristics that I personally believe make a well-rounded and effective educator. It is clear that she truly loves what she is doing.
