FACTORS AFFECTING MUTUAL STOCK FUND

PERFORMANCE

ABSTRACT

The mutual stock fund performance became the investors’ consideration to


determine their investment decision. The mutual stock fund performance is
affected by many determinants. The objective of this research was finding out the
effect of the past performance, the fund size, the fund age, the expense ratio, and
the cash flow on the mutual stock fund performance. The method used in this
research was the associative method. The data analysis technique used in this
research was the multiple linear regression. The result of this research showed that
all independent variables had a significant effect on the mutual stock fund
performance (the past performance sig. was 0.000; the fund size sig. was 0.024;
the fund age sig. was 0.003; the expense ratio sig. was 0.021, and the cash flow
sig. was 0.000).
