of reading? Why or Why not?
The Noli Me Tangere have such a big impression on the narrator because after she read the novel his philosophy,

2.Have you ever felt the same about a book that you had read? What book was it? Why did it leave such a huge
impression on you?
Yes. The Hunger Games. It leave such a good impression on me because from the very beginning up to the end of
the story it amplifies and expands my imagination and also it encapsulates the true meaning of revolution and it is
an epitome to everyone to stand up and fight for their freedom.

society? Explain your view.
For me, it means that all people who just take or receive the ideas or knowledge given by the artists without
proper appreciation is a disgrace behavior and I think Art should not be a reproach because it is created with a skill
that express with important idea or feelings of the artist. We should relate art to society because art is simply our
emotional state or sentiment in every aspects of life that can be shared to everyone.

My reaction is that I feel the same way on how they feel after reading it and this book can elicit such a strong
response to the Philippines because it cause such an impression or reaction to those who read it.

I think the narrator means that the event happened in the novel was a substantial part or our history and it is true
even today because it states the fact and incident happened and it provides a gate way to see what they’ve
experience in that era.

Yes, reading gives people more empathy and makes us more critical and reflective because people tend to witness
and perceive what does the character in the story feel and see.
8.Given this excerpt, what do you think is the importance of literature to society? Is this still applicable today?
As I’ve read the excerpt it is still applicable today. Literature has an important role to society, it gives view to the
things that are happening or happened in the past and it provides an opportunity for everyone to take a look into a
life that is different from their own.

9.Why is the Noli Me Tangere, a book that was banned in the past, now a required reading in Philippine schools? Why
did the Catholic Church go against making the noli a requirement?
Noli Me Tangere was banned in the past because it shows the revolution and wake up call to every Filipino against
the vulgar Spaniards who brought the religion Roman Catholic in the Philippines. Philippine schools are required to
study and read this because it is part of our Philippine Literature that is written by our National Hero, Jose Rizal.
And most importantly, it is part of our history and to know what really happened in that era.

10.Do you think there should ever be a time when certain books should be banned? Why or why not?
Book is a form of knowledge that can help us to be informed and gained ideas and information in many ways. Even
though every author has a different perspective and opinions regarding or what they’ve write it is considered as
knowledge. It may change or alter someone’s idea in the form of persuasive and informative way but it’s up to us if
we will believe it or not. So, for me books should never be banned at all.
