Calling the ceremony to order: “I hereby declare the induction ceremony of the
SDA Church ………………………………………………….. Adventurer Club now in order.”

The room is darkened…

Presiding Master Guide:

“For the Light of our programme we turn to the spirit of the Adventuring. The candle that I
now light proclaims this spirit. It is the spirit of busily working, shining for Christ, building body
and mind and helping others. Above all, it is a spirit of reverence and a spirit of service to God
and man.”

The Presiding Master Guide declares:

“This light is of itself NOT complete or sufficient. To introduce the complimentary lights we
call upon the Class Instructors to light the six Adventurer Class candles.”

The Class Instructors march smartly, salute, light the respective candles, explain meaning of the
respective class and thereafter salute. While lighting of each candle, the respective Class Instructor
defines their respective classes as follows:

Light Blue (4 years, Little Lambs) – A course of study in learning how to be faithful followers
of Jesus our Shepherd.

Green (5 years, Early Birds) – A course of study in learning how to keep the morning watch
and giving God the first place in my life.

Yellow (6 years, Busy Bee) – A course of study in learning how to be busy working for Jesus in
our school, home and Adventurers club.

Red (7 years, Sun Beam) – A course of study in learning how to be courteous Sun Beams
shining for Jesus everyday.

Blue (8 years, Builder) – A course of study to build Christian character and strong bodies for
Jesus.

Burgundy (9 years, Helping Hand) – A course of study in learning how to lend a helping hand
in serving Jesus at home.

Presiding Master Guide calls up the Adventurers to light Law candles (ten highest ranked Adventurers)
who march forward, salute, light respective candle, and then salute.

The Adventurers march forward, salute and declare, “Sir/Madam, I represent the candidates who
hereby vow to:

“Be Obedient, which means that the children will be willing to obey or be submissive to the
decisions of their rightful authorities, even as Jesus was to His Father. Ephesians 6:1.

“Be Pure, which means that the children will keep their lives clean by putting into their minds
and bodies only those ideas and things which are good and true and healthful. It also means
using thoughts, words and actions that will make Jesus and others happy. Matthew 5:8.

5
“Be True, which means that the children will be honest and upright In study, work, and play
and will be loyal to their families, friends, acquaintances and to their God. Ephesians 4:25.

“Be Kind, which means that the children will be considerate, gentle and affectionate not only
to people that they like, but to every person and to God’s creation. Matthew 7:2; Ephesians
4:32.

“Be Respectful, which means that the children give respect, first of all to the authorities
whom God has placed over them, and also to each person whom God has created in His image.
Respect can be described as thinking good things about another person and acting courteously
towards them. Exodus 20:16; Romans 13:1.

“Be attentive, means that the children will pay close attention to what is happening around
them, especially in reference to obeying God and to the feelings and needs of others. Proverbs
4:20.

“Be Helpful, which means that the children will seek opportunities to be of help at home and
at school. True happiness is done, not reluctantly but for the joy of pleasing one another,
pleasing Jesus and making oneself a better person. Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:2.

“Be Cheerful, which means that the children will cultivate the habit of thankfulness for the
things and opportunities which they have rather than dwelling on those things which may
displease them. It also means putting a smile on one’s face and in one’s voice in order to make
others feel happy and thankful as well. Proverbs 7:22; Psalm 139:14.

“Be thoughtful, which means that the children will begin to learn to stop and think before
acting, and to base their actions upon careful consideration of the consequences to others and
to themselves, rather than simply reacting to feelings and impulses. Colossians 3:17.

“Be Reverend, means that the children will show the highest respect and honour to God
because of His glory and majesty and righteousness. It involves speaking and walking quietly in
the sanctuary, treating His Bible gently as the best and the most important of all books, closing
one’s eyes and using appropriate posture when conversing in prayer with their Loving and
Glorious King. Psalms 89:7.”

dedication with which Adventist Youth serve Him. Does the Lord Jesus completely direct your
life?

“I promise. Promise means that the Youth are not dominated by someone else, but rather are
ready and willing to follow the Lord’s leading. This means that the Youth are available for
action and will decide for the best in life. They will follow the proposed path with
determination and will keep their eyes fixed on the goal. The Master can count on them to
fulfil their promise completely.

“To take an active part in the youth ministry of the Church. This means I will be involved in
the activities of the AY society, including the meetings and witnessing outreach. The Adventist
