On-the-job training (OJT) is a form of training taking place in a normal working
situation. It is a frequently used method of training because it requires only a person who knows how to do the task, and the tools the person uses to do the task. It may not be the most effective or the most efficient method at times, but it is normally the easiest to arrange and manage. Internship Training for Accountancy Students took place on their Fourth Year during Second Semester. The lessons they will learned from training will greatly affect their views and standings in life. I perform my training in Sta Clara International Corporation. They let me do the tasks as if I am a regular employee. Like, putting the custody of the important files (like vouchers) is one of my tasks. In these tasks, i need to be responsible because I am the one to ask where this particular file is. One of these files is Accounts Payable Voucher (APV). APV is the file needed by the company to pay their debts to specific supplier. Even one piece of it lost, the specific APV will not be able to pay which may affect the credibility of the company. Aside from it, I also reconcile accounts of suppliers. In this kind of task, i need to be careful because i need to come up with an equal balance per book and per supplier. If the amounts are not balanced, i need to justify if the specific accounts is somehow already paid or disputable or undisputable to pay. In addition to the tasks, I also entertain calls from the persons connected to the company and the suppliers of the company regarding their collectibles in the company. This is a very hard tasks because I have to deal with people I don’t know and I have to please them even though I am pissed with the words they used towards me. This task exercises my communication skills which is very useful in the future. Also, I am ask to compute the salary of the workers and staffs of the company. In here, I can apply the knowledge that I gain in school specifically in tax subject. I am the one who computed the monthly salary of an employee which is passed to the auditor for checking. Those are some of the tasks that I experienced in my training. The things that I experienced doesn’t well and perfect all throughout. I feel pain physically and mentally whenever I do the job and done it incorrectly. Also I am miles away from my hometown which add pain on my everyday life during training because I am the one who is responsible for the food I am going to eat and for the clothe I am going to wear wherein if I am at home I have my mother to such things. But I don’t let those pains manage me, I manage them appropriately and see it as training for the possible happenings in my life in the future. I can say that this Internship Program enables me to face the upcoming fights of my life.
