Preeclampsia is an endothelial malfunction disorder of blood vessel which

spread widely so occurs vasospasm (narrowing of blood vessel) after 20 weeks
of gestation that can lead to a decrease in organ perfusion and endothelial
activation causes hypertension, edema, and proteinuria. In preeclampsia
pregnancy occurs insulin and lipids metabolism disorders. Where there are
differences in metabolic components between normal pregnancy and
preeclampsia. Free fatty acid levels and triglyceride were higher in preeclamptic
patients than normal pregnant patients. Preeclampsia in pregnant women can
cause a risk of slowing fetal growth, increased incidence of stillbirth, seizures,
kidney failure, stroke and endangering the mother and fetus. This research aimed
to find out triglyceride levels in pregnant women for early diagnosis of
preeclampsia.

The research design was descriptive. Population was 30 pregnant women

at Puskesmas of Cukir Jombang. Sample was pregnant women who check in it
for 3 days as many 23 pregnant women by using Consecutive Sampling
technique. Variable was triglyceride levels. Data retrieval was done by using a
questionnaire sheet and direct venous blood taking that was examined using
enzymatic colorimetry (GPO-PAP). Data processing by using editing, coding,
scoring, and tabulating.

The result showed borderline triglyceride levels as many 6 respondents

(26%) and normal triglyceride levels as many 17 respondents (73,9%). The
conclusion showed that most of the pregnant women at Puskesmas of Cukir
Jombang have normal triglyceride levels. It is expected for health workers to give
counseling for pregnant women in order to check their pregnancy early as
prevention of preeclampsia.
