Identification of mold types on dried seaweed

Mold is able to change living things or inanimate objects to be something

profitable or harm. Mold can cause diseases for human health because the growth of
mold can produce a toxic chemical substance called mycotoxins. More than 400 kinds of
mycotoxins that have been produced by various types of fungi till nowadays, each of
them has a toxicity that is generally chronic or causes mycotoxicosis. The mold cause
respiratory and lungs diseases.

This research used a descriptive design. The sample taken was dried seaweed at
different places in Talango sub-district Jombang regency with the amount of population
was 4 dried seaweed by using total sampling with the variable was mold fungi. Data
analysis in this research used coding, editing and tabulating.

the obtained result of 4 samples of dried seaweed is positive there was mold. it
means that a whole (100%) of 4 samples of dried seaweed that has been researched is
positive there was mold.

Based on this research it can conclude that the dried seaweed which is sold at
Talango sub-district Sumenep Regency, a whole of the dried seaweed samples are
positive there is mold in it.
