Working with RFID 13.56MHZ

Objective:
To apprehend and practice RFID 13.56 MHZ operation principle for
information communicating process between the reader and active tags.

4.1 Components of RFID 13.5 MHz Kit

RFID 13.56 MHz set are composed of items described below.

4.2 RFID 13.5 MHz Operation Process

Radio frequency identification Its operation process when a passive tag used, is
described below.

1) RFID reader puts data in a high-frequency signal and transfers the signal through an
antenna.
2) High-frequency signal is received through the tag’s antenna.
3) A tag gets its power supplied from a high-frequency signal received from a reader, and
operates chips with in the reader with the received power.
4) A tag transfers preprogrammed data (Unique Identifier) to a reader. part of the radio
frequency signal gets altered and echoed back to a reader.
5) A reader decodes the echoed signal, and transfers it to a data collection device and a
host system.

4.3 RFID 13.5 MHz Program Installation

1) When a CD is inserted and Setup\Setup.exe is executed from CD-ROM, the following


installation screen is displayed.

2) Select ‘Typical from the above screen and press Next to finish installation. When the
installation is complete, the following screen is displayed.
