The following guidelines shall be used in the selection of electrical and electronic equipment brands.
General:
A. Acceptance of Offers.
This standard shall be used for replacement of existing equipment installations and acquisition of new
items.
New brands shall be subject to approval by ARCHEN POWER & ENERGY GROUP.
Specifics:
A. The selection of lighting protection devices shall be based on the following criteria.
a. For areas where combustible gases and highly flammable materials such as fine dusts
are commonly available: Dissipation-type of lightning protection system is required.
Alcohol plants, malt receiving facilities and flour mills are some of these areas that require
this type of lightning arresters.
b. For other areas, either dissipation or collector-type is allowable. Selection shall be based
on the price of the units to be installed.
B. For fractional hp LV motors that have their own MCCs and that are part of an integrated machine system
(e.g. crane-control equipment, filling machines, etc.), other brands are acceptable but only one brand shall
be used per assembly. However, the supplier must provide one (1) or 10% of the number of motors
supplied, whichever is higher, for every motor size as spare units.
The list of approved and recommended brands will be updated periodically. The above guidelines are for strict
implementation and compliance.
