Drinking water must be clear, does not have objectionable


taste, odor, and color. It must be pleasant to drink and free from
all harmful organisms, chemical substances, and radionuclides
in amounts hazardous to the health of the consumers.

EMERGENCY DRINKING WATER


1. During the first 72 hours, temporary supply of water
shall be provided by the BWD. Water should be disin-
fected as a minimum treatment (i.e. boiling, chlorina-
tion)
2. The water supply shall be monitored daily for at least
seven (7) days in terms of residual chlorine and E. coli.
The acceptable level of residual chlorine shall be 0.5mg/
