Considerations:

• Exploration and appraisal well mainly for well testing purposes :

Payzone(s), duration, type of well testing

• Development well is for producing purposes : Payzone(s), equipment,

production/injection profile

Safety Precaution

• It is prohibited to do the perforation in bad weather condition

• Perforation must be done in the daylight

• All radio or communication devices must be turned off during the operation.

• All welding process must also be suspended after the perforation process is finished

Preparation

• Ensure the hydrostatic pressure of the well is 3-10% above reservoir pressure
(overbalance condition).

• Reduce the hydrostatic pressure inside the tubing by using coiled tubing unit or swab
(TCP-underbalanced)

• Ensure the wing valve X-mas tree is closed (TCP-underbalanced)

Preparation

• Prepare the copy of CCL-GR log of the well for depth correlation (measured depth),
ensure that the depth of CCL-GR log is in accordance with the Gamma Ray-Resistivity
open hole log.

• Ensure that the types & amount of explosives installed and the diameter & length of
casing gun are in accordance with the drilling program.

• Ensure that the detonator used can withstand the temperature of the well and the
detonator is in good condition

When using wireline

• Install wireline BOP stack.

When using TCP

• For rigless operation, position the crane near the well in order to increase the safety of the job.

• Install pressure control equipment, which has been equipped with dummy in same diameter
as the gun OD that will be used, at the top valve of x-mas tree

• For pressurised well, the sinker bar design must refer to the following graph.

wireline/ slick line.
