 One of the outcomes identified in the PDP 2017-2022
is to increase the country’s potential through R&D

 The Harmonized National Research and Development

Agenda (HNRDA) 2017-2022 provides national
priorities for R&D

 The CVRDP 2017-2022 identified STI as one of the

key drivers of productivity, growth and advancement
 The DOST endeavors to significantly accelerate STI
through massive increase in investment on
HRD and R&D

 The NICER program of DOST provides institutional

grant for HEIs for R&D capacity building to improve
S&T infrastructures

 Through the program, HEIs will be able to integrate

regional development needs with R&D and local
resources
General Objective:
To produce a Philippine-made e-trike vehicle through
the establishment of the e-trike Research and
Development Hub in Region 02.
Specifically to:

 Develop, test and evaluate the fabrication process

of all parts of the e-trike;
 Increase efficiency of the e-trike charging system
with the integration of alternative energy;
 Utilize IT system to improve tracking and recording
data;
 Automate local production of e-trike;
 Conduct social and economic dimension of the e-
trike program; and
 Upgrade the equipment and facilities for the e-trike
production system.
The proposed establishment of
e-Trike Hub in Region 02 has a
total project cost amounting to
PhP148,678,587.00
