Question
Can a PanelBuilder32 application (.PVA or .PBA file extensions) be converted/imported into PanelView Component or
PanelView 800 terminals?

Is it possible to convert an application from PanelView Plus to PanelView Component/PanelView 800?

Is it possible to convert an application from PanelView Standard to PanelView Component/PanelView 800?

Can I convert an .MER file to a .CHA file?

Answer
No, the PanelView Component and PanelView 800 are not designed for migration from any other PanelView terminals. The
reverse is also true; you cannot convert a PanelView Component and PanelView 800 application into a PanelView Plus or
PanelView Standard.

Additionally:

There is no application import

The panel cutouts will be different
There is no Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, ControlNet and DeviceNet communications
There is no Class 1, Div 2 rating for PanelView Component, there is for the PanelView 800

If you still plan to use a PanelView Component or PanelView 800, then the application will have to be recreated from
scratch.

An available alternative is to convert your PanelBuilder32 project to a FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) application.
The PanelView Plus is the correct solution for PanelView Standard migrations.

This will require a PanelView Plus terminal in order to run. For more details on how to perform an Import into an ME
application, follow note 799278 - Import a PanelBuilder32 application into FactoryTalk View Machine Edition
