Socrates (470–399 BCE)

“I know that I know nothing”

Is sometimes attributed the statement “I know that I know nothing,” to denote

an awareness of his ignorance, and in general, the limitations of human
knowledge.

We are human beings and we should be aware that we are work in progress.
We need to accept that we need to strive hard to learn and learning doesn’t
end. I also pondered based on the above philosophy to accept any
constructive criticism for it is a way to acknowledge our limited knowledge- it is
a step towards knowing. It also connotes how human beings are being
molded-imperfect. But through the imperfections we acknowledge our
limitations. It is the step towards making the best version of ourself. As a
whole, I have realized that we need to know that we know nothing in order to
learn something and to be better.

Michel Foucault (1926-1984)

“Oppressed humans are entitled to rights and they have a duty to rise up
against the abuse of power to protect these rights.”

We are human beings with inherent powers and rights. We determine the
course of life we are having. Based on the philosophical writings of Michel
Foucault, I believe that no one can ever dictate the path we are going to take
and lead except our own actions. No person can also be little others, if so, we
have the power to stop it because we are given an inherent rights to protect it.
We need to know our rights and take the power to destroy any wrong actions
against us. No other person could do it, except our own self.
Immanuel Kant (1724–1804)
“Categorical imperative,” the idea that there are intrinsically good and moral
ideas to which we all have a duty, and that rational individuals will inherently
find reason in adhering to moral obligation”

Humans are rational beings or individuals. Our inner state dictates to see the
goodness in everything. As a general rule, there is goodness in us and we
only have to look deeper to find it. It comes naturally to every human being
that no matter how evil a person is, there is still goodness lying inside- in
every person. Since, it is presumed that humans are good and moral; we have
a duty to put it into actions. This has been the standard of the society. We
have to do good because that is how we are made and to do wrong or evil
against other person gives us no excuse since we are inherently moral
beings.
