Ternate Marriage Procession
Ternate is a city whose cultural diversity is very strong in the community. We can see this
in community activities, one of which is marriage. At the time of the wedding ceremony,
traditional ceremonies are not just forgotten but are very mandatory. This ceremony has a long
process and is certainly very sacred. All the sequences that are usually done have a meaning that
is so strong and impressive for those who carry it out. the procedure for carrying out the
wedding procession can be seen as follows.
1. Sigado Salam
Sigado Salam or what is usually referred to as the delivery of this greeting means that the
bridegroom's calom, represented by the oldest family member, comes to the house of the
prospective bride with the intention of conveying greetings if two or three days will come.

2. Masuk Minta
This activity is carried out by the bride and groom to determine the time of the wedding,

3. Antar Belanja
Antar Belanja is a request for a wedding event sent to the bride's family. At present, the

4. Kata Rorio
Kata rorio is usually known as rorio night, a series of activities carried out at night before
the wedding (marriage). The event was attended by the family and relatives of the bride
with the intention to come to give blessings to the bride.
5. Banikah
Banikah is the essence of the marriage process, before making an agreement from the
bridegroom to the bride's house sent by the family (Baba Se Ema), followed by candles,
dowry, and a complete set of prayer tools brought by Baba ema and Yaya ( small children)
and welcomed by the bride. Don't wait long, the compliance process is done. After that, the
groom enters the bride's room to meet. However, the husband must pass the tradition of fati
