ABSTRACT

In the IoT, things are expected to become active participants where they are able
to interact and communicate among themselves by exchanging data and information
sensed about the environment. For that, they react autonomously to the real world
events and provide services with or without direct human intervention. In this thesis,
IoT was used for energy efficient environment in the home control system. Computers
or mobile phone are used in IoT based home control and monitoring system. This
internet-based control system is composed of two main modes: automation mode and
remote control mode. Home appliances can be controlled automatically according to
the sensors values in the automation mode. In the remote control mode, users can
control the fan on/off section and motion detection section regardless of the sensors
data. This system can not only control the home appliances but also monitor the
conditions of the home environments such as temperature and movements. These
control and monitoring section are designed as wireless section by android phone or
computer through the internet connection. Users can monitor the status of home
appliances and control them from anywhere.
