Chapman’s Fast Car is a song about Chapman’s journey with the love of his life to find happiness. He

talks about how he has nothing to lose and will risk everything for a chance of a happy life in the suburbs with

the woman he loves. The song points out how city life isn’t meant for him anymore, and how his identity is

changing now that he’s found someone he loves. [non-fiction]

This novel is about Starr Carter, who is constantly switching identities between her rich

predominantly-white prep school and her poorer predominantly-black neighborhood. The worlds collide when

her childhood friend dies at the hands of a white police officer, and Starr must now stand up against police

brutality and decide which identity she will choose from this point onward. [fiction]

This movie is the animated Disney rendition of the classic tale of the same name by Charles Perrault.

Cinderella was a gentle and kind girl, who was forced to become a servant to her wicked stepmother and

stepsisters after the death of her father. Cinderella wishs to go to the royal ball, and dances with the prince.

Afterward, the prince begins to search for Cinderella with the glass slipper she left on the steps of the castle.

Eventually the prince finds her and whisks her away to become a princess. Cinderella didn’t deserve her identity

as just a servant, and so eventually her dream comes true and she is given a new identity as a princess. [fiction]

This short story is about Robert Creeley’s attempts to be a kind and outgoing person, but this

personality doesn’t fir Creeley’s identity at all. Everyone tris to be a kinder person at some point, but some

people just aren’t that type. This short story is about a struggle between what you are supposed to be and what

you are. [non-fiction]

Deltarune is an indie game by none other than Toby Fox, currently one of the biggest names in the

game development industry. It's about the story of a kid named Chris, and his unlikely friend Suzie. Chris in an

antisocial kid who doesn’t speak to anyone, and Suzie is the school bully who is more of an antagonist than an

ally for the majority of the game. Over time they struggle with their identities and become friends through an

adventure they get thrown into and come out stronger than they were before. The theme of the game is that

you cannot change who you are born as, but you can be better with what you have. [fiction]
