IMPACT OF WORK ENVIRONMENT ON JOB SATISFACTION

Abstract - The work environment can implicate the social relation at workplace and also maintain the

relationship between colleague, supervisor and the organization. It describes the neighbouring circumstances in

which employees are working together. A satisfied, happy and hardworking employee is the biggest asset of any

organization. Effective results and productivity for any organization depends on the level of satisfaction of

employees; and work environment is one of the most important factor which influence the satisfaction and

motivation level of employees. Efficient human resource management and maintained good work environment or

culture effects not only the performance of employee and organization but also affects the growth and development

of entire economy. This research paper makes effort to study the work environment and work culture in Domino's

Pizza. This study is conducted in Jaipur city only.

Index Term- Work environment, work culture, human resource management, motivation & job satisfaction.

1. Objectives of the study

 To know the working condition of employees.

 To know the overall satisfaction level of employees.

 To study the factors effecting work environment.

 To analyse the impact of work environment on job satisfaction.

 To ascertain the impact of physical and mental environment on employee performance.

2. Research Methodology

 Area of study: Respondents from Jaipur City.

 Research instrument: Structured questionnaire.

 Sample size: 100 samples.

 Sampling Technique: Convenient and Random Sampling Technique.


 Data Collection: The Primary Data has been collected through questionnaire and

interview and the Secondary Data has been collected with the help of journals,

magazines, books and internet

 Analysis of Data: Once the data has been collected through questionnaire and interview

then the simplest and most revealing devices for summarizing data is the statistical table.

A table will be systematic arrangement of data in column and rows. The purpose of a

table will be simplifying the presentation and to facilitate results.

3. Findings of the study

Subject of the present study has been selected from managerial and non-managerial staff of

Dominos from Jaipur city.

Employees of Dominos are basically well satisfied with these factors and can retain their

employees with these aspect:

 Work environment

 Duties and responsibilities

 Refreshment and recreation facility

 Grievance handling procedure

 Fun at workplace

 Health and safety facility.

However, every coin has its two faces head either tail, same as pros and cons are always be there

in entirety. Therefore, employees are not satisfied or dissatisfied with these factors and can directly

impact on attrition rate or else job satisfaction.

 Workload and overtime

 Job includes fatigue and boredom

 Attitude of supervisor
4. Conclusion

The result of the study indicates that workload, stress, overtime, fatigue, boredom are some factors to

increase job dissatisfaction. On the other hand, good working condition, refreshment and recreation facility,

health and safety facility, fun at workplace increase the degree of job satisfaction. Effectual human resource

management and preserving progressive work environment would improve job satisfaction and performance of

organization as well as entire economy. Hence, It is vital for the success of organization to accomplish HRM

successfully and observe whether the work environment is satisfied for employees or not.

5. Recommendation

 Organization should adapt virtuous strategies for overcome with the problem related to

fatigue and boredom. Company would be change the job for decay the fatigue and

boredom.

 Organization should divide the work equally for workload or else appoint more

employees. As workload stimulus stress, so company has to take some action.

 Attitude towards the subordinate and colleagues should smooth and positive for effective

results.

 Organization should change the job time to time for avoiding fatigue and boredom.

6. Reaction/Critique

The researchers did not provide sufficient information in its abstract for reviewers to

judge the adequacy of their research. Abstracts should highlight major points of the research such as why

the study is important, what the purpose was, how the project went, what have learned, and what have

concluded. However, the researchers only introduced the nature and significance of work environment on

job satisfaction and its conclusion. The effectiveness of investigation strategy or method used and the

nature of results was not mentioned above.


The objectives were specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely but it should

have been listed systematically. The researchers must first study the factors effecting the work

environment before recognizing the working condition of employees. Then, they must analyze the impact

of physical and mental work environment on job satisfaction and employee performance before attaining

the overall satisfaction level of employees. With these objectives, the researchers will be able to

understand the significance of work environment to employee's job satisfaction that might their

performance.

The research methodology does not explicitly stated what kind of research method was

used but provided the research design, area of study, sample of the population, sampling technique,

instrument for data collection and method of data analysis. The area of the study must be specific and it

should be the respondents from Domino's Pizza in Jaipur City. This research did not provided the

structured questionnaire used to support the findings to be factual and concise. The sample technique used

in the study does not reflect the entire target population since it was a randomly picked in a "convenient"

way. There is a possibility that the data does not provide equal chance of selection and may carry a high

risk of error.

The findings of this research was very brief statistical measure of the results were not

well supported in their findings since it was already interpreted in the Framework Analysis of Data.

Findings must present the analysis and interpretation of the data and should not prove anything, however,

the researchers provided a statement that concluded the results.

Conclusion did not explain the effects of the increase and decrease of job satisfaction to

work environment and the organization.
