Currently, thanks to globalization, after suffering different contracts, due to the

mismanagement of transport and related operations, at the same time, the need to
study means that lead to better security, thus emerging the term of international
physical distribution. This term has the purpose of discovering the most adequate
solution to carry out the quantity of product of its origin in the appropriate place, in
the necessary time and at the minimum possible cost, compatible with the required
service strategy (Houlihan , 1985).
The IPD extends to a very wide field and it is not a transport of its own, but also
technologies, packaging, packaging, complementary transport to the port of
embarkation, manipulations and intermediate storage points, office formalities are
used. of the customs and exit of the country exported and the entry of the importing
country, the rights and data in addition to the payments of the applied icons, the
insurance, the selection of personnel, the security of the payment, among many
others, looking for the purpose of reduce costs, times and maximum risks from the
point of departure to the delivery point of the final destination. This is why the
following question arises: What are the advantages of reducing logistics costs and
transportation in the international physical distribution and the disadvantages of high
costs in them?
Among the main advantages that can be found of reducing logistics and
transportation costs in the international physical distribution is that companies are
driven to increase their productivity, because they open greater opportunities for
competitiveness and market participation, which makes their products achieve
greater recognition and turnover of sales. Also, one of the disadvantages of reducing
these costs is that it increases the level of demand in relation to companies that are
just beginning because large companies have more resources to take on the
different challenges they present and be more competitive. It is for this reason that
it is essential to establish support strategies for these companies so that they can
internationalize from their market, and create a greater capacity for response and
profitability.
In conclusion, it can be established that the Physical Distribution system deals with
everything related to the movement of the product from the producer to the end user,
including the stages corresponding to regional deposits or terminals and / or indirect
channels used. That is, its function is to keep the balance that must exist between
the contractual terms and their compliance according to the distribution channels,
prices, times and operational management, and their medium-term projection in
accordance with the corporate policy.
