THE RBI POLICY CHALLENGE 2019: A

NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION FOR


UNDER GRADUATE/ POST GRADUATE
As the Central Bank of the country, The Reserve Bank of India is committed to
spreading awareness regarding financial matters and promotion of better
understanding of monetary and economic issue. Towards this we are please to
announce launch of 4th edition of National level competition titled “THE RBI
POLICY CHALLENGE 2019”.
Salient Features of the events are as follows: -
• Regional round: This would involve writing an essay on a given topic by
students in a group of 3-4 guided by a faculty advisor. Only 1 entry per
institution would be accepted. Details regarding the topic. Maximum word
limit, assessment criteria, last date for a receipt of entries etc are enclosed.
Teams writing the best essay, as assessed by the experts would advance to
zonal round.
• Zonal round: (At Reserve Bank staff college, 359, anna Salai, Teynampet,
Chennai/600018 on Feb 1st, 2019): Each team would be invited to present
a paper before the panel comprising external experts as also field a few
questions posed by the panellist. The winning team from every zone would
advance to the national round.
• National round: (At Mumbai around in February/ March 2019 exact date
to be announced later) A monetary policy related topic would be assign to
all teams in the four rooms and they would be required to make a 15 min
presentation in the afternoon before an eminent panel following by Q&A
session.
• Prizes: ₹1,00,000 cash prize to the winning team. The winning team
would also be given opportunity to intern with RBI for a period of 3
months in a department of their choice.

The second runner up will get ₹50,000 cash prize + trophy, while the
other two national finalists would win ₹20,000 cash prize each.

Regional and Zonal winners will get ₹10,000 and ₹15,000 cash prize
respectively by RO/ZC concerned.

• Topic for the essay: “Banking Sector in India/Challenges and


Opportunities.
• Language: English/ Hindi
• Length of the essay: Maximum 2000 words
• Last date of submission: 10th November 2018
