Chirio,

the
Superbat
A RETELLING OF HIS ADVENTURES
Every evening, the alarm clock goes off at 7 o’clock at night.
Chirio, the Superbat, sleeps comfortably upside down, wrapped in his warm wings.
He unwraps his wings slowly, stretches and yawns in his dark cave.
“Yawn” …. “It’s time to wake up”, says Chirio.

At 7.30, Chirio jumps down and puts on his Superbat clothes.

He goes to the bathroom. He washes his face, brushes his teeth, and brushes his
fur. He is ready to have breakfast before flying to work.
At 8 o’clock at night, breakfast is ready. For breakfast, Chirio always eats
some fruit: mangos, berries, bananas and apples are his favourite.
“I love fruits.” “Yum, these are delicious”, thinks Chirio.
He loves nectar, so he has some flowers too. All this food gives him energy for
his work.
“Now, I’m ready to hunt insects”, says Chirio.  And he flies in the dark night sky.
At one o’clock at night, Chirio prepares fried insects and he has lunch. He sits
at his table and eats.
“Yum! They are really good!”, says Chirio.

But his lunch is interrupted by the sonar.

“Someone needs my help!”, says Chirio and starts to fly in the dark night sky again.
Soon, he catches a thief and takes him to prison.
“Thank you, Superbat” “You are a hero”, say the people at the windows.
In the morning, Chirio goes back to his cave. He is tired. At 6 o’clock in the morning,
he takes off his Superbat clothes and has a shower and puts on some perfume.
“Now, I smell nice”, says Chirio.
After his shower, he drinks a cup of fresh blood for dinner.

At 7 o’clock in the morning, Chirio rests upside down. He reads a book. When he is
tired, he goes to sleep.
This is the end of a night in the life of Chirio, the Superbat.
