At the end of the lesson the student are expected to:

a. Identify the pattern of bibliography format of book as reference;


b. Construct book bibliography format using APA style; and
c. Cite book reference in the text using APA style.

where they belong after, the teacher will connect to the topic.

2. LESSON PROPER
 What is Bibliography? From Greek biblion, “Book” and graphia means “Writing”
as discipline ,is traditionally the academic study of book as physical, cultural
objects, in this sense it is also known as bibliology.
 According to Merriam dictionary, (1828) Bibliography defines as list of books,
magazines,articles,etc.,about a particular subject that are mentioned in a text.

 How to write bibliography using book as reference?


 Books bibliography format follow this pattern:
Author’s Last name, Author’s Initial of First name, (Publication Year), Title, Publisher
City, Publisher, and Page Number.

Example:
Alexander, C. ( 2001). Market Models: A Guide to Financial Data Analysis. New York,
NY: John Willy & Son. pp. 200-220.

 How to use reference in In-text citation?

Book with no author- cite the title in the signal phrase or the first word os two in the
parenthesis and the page number

Example:
Reference List
The complete encyclopedia of garden flowers.(2003).Auckland, New Zealand: Bateman.

In-text Citation
The complete encyclopedia of garden flowers.(2003) shows that…….(p.96)
Note: Title of books must be italicized or underlined.

Book with one author- cite the author, the year and page number

Example:
Reference List
Jones, R.(2007). Nursing Leadership and Management: Theories process and practice.
Philadelphia, PA:FA. Davis

In-text Citation
Jones (2007) notes that…………… (page 184) or (Jones 2007 p.184)

Book with two authors- Name both authors in signal phrase or in the parenthesis.
Use “and” if authors are within the text. Use “ampersand”(&) is authors are in the
parenthesis.

Example:
Reference List- Claireborne,L.,& Drewery, W.(2010). Human development:
Family,place, culture. North Ryde, Australia; Mc Growth Hill.

In-text Citation
Claireborne and Drewery (2010) state that (p. 88) or
( Claireborne and Drewery 2010 state that ……..p. 88)

B. ANALYSIS
 How do you form a book bibliography format?
 How can you cite in-text if the book has no author? Has one author? Or has no
author?
 Why is it important to put the reference and cite them?

C. ABSTRACTION
 Bibliography format of book is conforming to the pattern of author’s last name,
initial of author’s first name. (Publication year), Title, Publisher City, Publisher,
and Page Number.
 A book with no author, cite the source by its title or first or two words plus the
year.

 A book with one author, cite the author, the year ,the statement or the
information and the page number.
 A book with two author, cite the name of the author by using and or ampersand
& , the year ,the statement or the information and the page number.
 The importance of referencing is that, it gives full reference information each
source you’ve used, that the readers will be able to locate the source you’ve
used. On the other hand, citing acknowledges the author of the ideas you’ve
used and avoid plagiarism.

D. APPLICATION

 The teacher will distribute strips of paper containing the elements (sample)
sample of the pattern and let the student paste it on the board.
 After, the teacher will call students to cite the reference
 maximum of four students.

Pre-listening: The teacher will show the picture of the author and introduce to the
class.
During Listening: Check the learners if the listening and encourage them to take
down notes.
Post Listening: The teacher will ask the following question:

Setting the Standards:
 The teacher will divide the class into two.
 The student will act as Emily dikinson an interview is set so the student will
promote the poem. In the teacher’s hand there are two blue papers that
contained 6 questions each question will answer by 4 students.
 Student must have brainstorming activity.
 They will write their answers in 1 whole sheet of paper.

1. What do faded forest stand for?


2. Who is Austin? Have you ever try to cheer him up in your poem? Why?
3. Which of the poem lines do you consider as representing the feelings of sadness and
delight? Explain your choice.
4. What influence or impact do you intend to deliver to whoever reads your poem?

 It is not about the sky, its not really the physical sky but something much deeper
and meaningful.
 It talks about love, family, that no matter how hectic the schedule of work you
have.You as a concern and loving member of the family must invest time to
encourage each member of the family to comeback home because there’s no
place the home .
D. APPLICATION

4. LESSON PROPER
 Imagery- is the use of figurative language to represent objects, actions, and
ideas in such a way that it appeals to our physical senses.
Function
- to generate a vibrant and graphic presentation of a scene that appeals to as
many of the readers senses as possible.
- Aids the readers imagination to envision the characters and scenes in the literary
piece clearly.

 What are the types of imagery?


 We have Visual, Auditory, Olfactory, Tactile, and Gustatory Imagery

 Visual Imagery- address our sense of vision, in this way the readers visualize
what is happening in the story in his or her own mind.
e.g : It was dark and dimly lit forest
The moonlight bathed the room in a glowing light
 Auditory imagery- the use of figurative language to address our sense of
hearing.
e.g : The girl was kicking and screaming as she was dragged towards the exit.
The children are playing and shouting in the fields.
 Olfactory Imagery- the use of figurative language to address our sense of
smell.
e.g: The wind carried the aroma of the flowers across the field.
He wifted the aroma of brewed coffee.
 Tactile Imagery- the use of figurative language to address our sense of touch.
e.g: She fell down on the soft mattress and seep peacefully.
The wild gusts of cold wind pierced her body.
 Gustatory Imagery- the use of figurative language to address our sense of taste
or our taste of buds.
e.g: The warm, sweet chocolate drink made her happy on that winter night.
The fresh and juicy orange is very sweet and cold
Imagery is one of the most commonly used techniques in literature ,it is used to
create mental picture of events that takes place in the story. To make this mental
picture complete, the authors use different types of imagery to address our basic
senses; vision, hearing, smell, touch, and taste.

A.ACTIVITY
Setting the Standards:
 The teacher will divide the class into four.
 Each group must have 1 secretary and 1 representative to report the task given.
 Each group is given only 5 minutes to do the task
 The activity will be graded according to the rubric shown below
