1. Modification Of Traffic Signal Functioning

i) Priority Preference for Ambulance
If an ambulance is identified in a particular route, then that route should be cleared
to ensure Ambulance is not delayed. (Identification of ambulance would be done
with cameras/sensors and the nearest hospital route would be identified.)
ii) Identification of empty roads and Optimizing the Signal timings
Sensor should be placed after every 50meters and at the traffic signals, if there is no
vehicles the time allotted for green signal should be decreased. Sensor should also
detect the highest traffic roads and adjust its timing.

2. Inventing Home Plastic Recycling Machines

i) Zero Plastic Waste
Every home should have small recycling machines which can recycle the household
plastic, so that plants, wildlife and even the human population can be saved from
plastic pollution.
ii) Recycled Plastic Uses
A team of scientists analyzed plastic production data & concluded that 91% of
plastics are not recycled. Recycled plastic from every house should be collected by
garbage collectors and these recycled plastic can be re-used in different industries
such as
 Insulating materials industry
 Construction industry
 Injection molding
 Foil industries
 Horticulture industries

Applications: Agriculture, Furniture, Construction, Packaging, Technical products,

Agricultural film, Automotive, Bags, Consumer goods, Sacks.

3. Minimizing the usage of water

i) Alarm should ring to alert people that water is coming
 Whenever water is released, sensors would sound an alarm and alert people. This
reduces the wastage of drinking water.
ii) Proportionate Water Usage
 Information should be collected from voter list and proportionate number of liters
should be calculated for each house and water should be supplied accordingly.
 During functions water supply station needs to be informed in advance so that water
supply for that particular day will be increased.
iii) Reduce water wastage
 Fix sensors in the water pipelines to monitor for any leaks. The concerned authority
officers should be alerted whenever there are any leakages.

4) Animal welfare :
 Everyday we see many stray/street dogs, cows, buffalo etc, are underfed and always
are in search of food. Most of these animals starve.
 At the same we also food leftovers as waste.
 Currently we segregate waste into 2 bins, green bin for dry waste and blue bin for
wet waste and all the leftover food is dumped in to the blue bin.

Solution: We can use one more bin like red colored bin for collecting food waste and use
it to feed the starving animals. This way we can protect both our environment and our
animals.

5) Aquaponics system.
 Aquaponics combines conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as
snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water)
in a symbiotic environment.
 In an aquaponic system, water from an aquaculture system is fed to
a hydroponicsystem where the by-products are broken down by nitrifying
bacteria initially into nitrites and subsequently into nitrates that are utilized by the
plants as nutrients. Then, the water is recirculated back to the aquaculture system.

Advantages of aquaponics systems

 Both plant and fish enjoy and organic growth in such eco-system.
 Water conservation is high.
 There are also minimal waste disposal due to recycling.
 No disease causing organism as opposed to conventional farming.
