This chapter present the introduction of the study, background of the

study, scope and delimitations and definition of terms used in the study.

Introduction of the Study

The researchers will conduct a study about the advantages and

disadvantages of electrical appliances in cooking.The focus respondents of this

study are the grade 11 H.E students.

According to jacquelin Hiltner, electrical appliances from the name itself,It

describes any devices which use electricity for it to function.In this article the

electrical appliances is a device or equipment designed to perform a task,

typically a domestic one but it need an electricity for it to function.

Electrical appliances create to make people's live easier and more efficient,the

more free time you have due to electrical appliances the more other things you

are able to do. Using electrical appliances two things you need to remember dont

over use an electrical appliances and unplug it when you are done using it to

avoid over heat and to avoid high electrical bill. Every electrical appliances have

an Instruction you just need to do is read it, if you don't know how to use it.ok

According to Robert Preston besides in electrical appliances there's a fire wood

before. A fire wood is an oldest cooking fuel in the form of logs and Branches

from trees, to be used as fuel for purposes such as cooking,heating or power

production.

Firewood burning stoves provide a natural way for home owner to heat their

residence by burning split logs. While many owners prefer log burning stoves to

electric heating options, using a wood burning stoves is a very hassle to use

because you need to wait a couple of minutes for it to have a fire, wood burning

contributes pollution to the environment. In the form of the smoke released

serves as a pollutant to the outsides, can also pollute the air inside the home if

not properly rented, causing smoke to build up in your rooms. Wood burning

stoves can get messy if they are not properly maintained.

In this days, people are busier in their lives than ever. Everyone wants to do their

routine work a fast as possible. Electrical appliances is very useful in cooking

because it cannot consume time cooking in the kitchen and it make life simplify

by reducing more steps between you and your final goal. Electrical appliances

also can preserve foods. But electrical appliances make not very convenient in all

times because you can't use it without electricity.

Most of the people cannot imagine their lives without these appliances because

these appliances make their life easier. Appliances like refrigerator,oven,cooking

range,blender etc. Which are more efficient to work with. People will definitely go

for them as they reduce the efforts of a daily routine.

As we live this busy life where we need fast everything, these appliances by their

useful and fast services gives us the peace that our daily routine work is done

properly and we didn't have to put so much effort on it.

Background of the Study

Electrical appliances are wonderful for those who dont have the time,

ability or disire to do things manually. There are common kitchen problems

associated with different electrical appliances some common problems are;

improper cooking in oven not cooling refrigerator cant chop pure or guate fluent

in blender electrical appliances can use far in the plug.

These common problems can affects cooking performance you can also use

things manually for the subtitute of appliances but it can consume time because

you have a lot to do and maybe the food results can be worst.

According to Heather G. Haight the kitchen is normally full of appliances that

need a lot of energy such as gas and electricity. It is essential that you know

kitchen appliances can save your time and money if they are energy efficiency

modern appliance have an extra feature user friendly and an adorable than

traditional things use in cooking, because traditional things use in cooking you

need to do a lot of things before you can start cooking it can consume time.

People now a days they must prefer to use electrical appliances because

electrical appliances can't consume your time and you will not be busier than

ever you will have time for your family and for other things that you need to do.

The researcher conduct this study because the researchers what to know more

about the advantage of ethical electrical appliances that can help other people to

improve their cooking techniques and know more about the disadvantages of

electrical appliances that can also help other people to became aware of harmful

situation due to electrical appliances.

This study is aimed to determine the advantages and disadvantages of

electrical appliances in cooking and its relationship to their respondents

specifically. It seeks to answer the following questions.

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of the following variables?

3. The disadvantages of electrical appliances

4. The importance of electrical appliances in cooking

Statement of Hypothesis

The main advantages of having electrical appliances is it can make our

life easier, can make everyone’s work easier.

The disadvantages of electrical appliances is you cannot use it far in the plug,

and you can’t use it without electricity, and also it can make your electrical bill

high, and also it can be harmful when you dont know how to use it proper.

The importance of electrical appliances in cooking is preparing creative foods. It

can conserve time,money and effort.

This study was focus on the advantages and disadvantages of electrical

appliances in cooking in 100 H.E students in ICCT Collages foundation inc. Main

campus academic year 2019-2020 we choose the grade 11 students because we

want to know their perspective about electrical appliances.

The scope in determining the advantages and disadvantages of the

electrical appliances is based on the following rubics in electrical appliances as

follows: on how advantages, disadvantages and how importance is it.
