    Several students were involved in a major disciplinary incident where they tried to forcibly enter the institute campus in a car late at night. During an altercation, one student attacked a security guard, hitting him on the head. The security guard had to be hospitalized. An investigation found that several named students were directly or indirectly involved. As a result of a disciplinary committee meeting with the students and their parents, several students were suspended from the institute for one year and had their summer courses cancelled. The students were also placed on disciplinary probation for the rest of their time at the institute and banned from participating in extracurricular activities. Any future incidents would result in expulsion.

    NOTICE
    A complaint related to a major indiscipline by some students, on the night June 30, 2019, had been
    received from Capt. Manjit Singh, AO, wherein, the students tried to forcefully enter the institute in
    a car. In the altercation that followed one of the students attacked the security guard and hit him on
    the head and the remaining students also got involved in beating the security guard. Due to this the
    security guard had to be hospitalized. These students accepted to have indulged in such activities and
    accepted the mistake.

    After investigation, it has been observed that following students are directly or indirectly involved the
    activities as outlined above.

    The Institute takes a serious note of such activities and strongly conveys that such acts will not
    be tolerated.
    All these students along with their parents were called to attend the meeting of Student Discipline
    committee which was held on Tuesday July 9, 2019. Considering the apologies submitted and
    assurance of disciplined behavior given by the above students and their parents, the following action
    has been taken:

    Harmanpreet Singh S/o 401502003 Suspended from the Institute with immediate effect
    Gurjit Singh for a period of 1 year till July 2020.
    Kuljeet Singh S/o S. 101504063 Suspended from the Institute with immediate effect
    Iqbal Singh for a period of 1 year till July 2020.
    Karanveer Singh S/o S. 101503113 Suspended from the Institute with immediate effect
    Kamal Singh for a period of 1 year till July 2020.
    Karanvir Singh S/o S. 101684005 All the summer improvement courses stand
    Jasvinder Singh cancelled. The Degree/PDC and other related
    certificates not to be issued for a period of at least six
    months
    Karanbir Singh S/o S. 101509016 All the summer improvement courses stand
    Satinder Singh cancelled. The Degree/PDC and other related
    certificates not to be issued for a period of at least six
    months
    All the above students are also being kept under disciplinary probation for the remaining period of
    their studies on campus. In addition to this they are not allowed to participate in any activities of any
    society/clubs/ chapters for the remaining period of studies at T.I.E.T.

    During the period of punishment, they will not be allowed to enter the campus.

    Any action of such kind in future will immediately lead to rustication from the Institute.
