Summary

Money and Politics in the Land of Oz

The article entitled “Money and Politics in the land of Oz” is all about oz government.
The author uses a character to represent the Political Government of Oz.
The story of “The wonderful Wizard of Oz is an example of exposing the government
characteristic in the land of Oz. The author of the article made the idea on how to state clearly
the different politician in the Land of Oz.
Critics of the allegorical reading of the wonderful wizard of Oz have made L. Frank
Baum discover that Democrat or Bryan is not a pro-populist parable, something different from
the claim that there is no evidence that Baum’s story is in anyway a Populist allegory,” as
Hearn (1992) argued. The originator of the allegorical interpretation characterized Oz as a
“critique” of Populism, not a defense. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is clearly neither a pro-
Populist parable nor an anti-Populist parable. Therefore, the oz tale is the best viewed as a
symbolic and the satirical representation of the Populist movement and the politics of the age, as
well as a children’s story. Quite simply, Oz operates on two levels, one literal and puerile, the
other symbolic and political. Its capacity to fascinate on both levels testifies to its remarkable
author’s wit and ingenuity.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2018

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has done on his third Sate of the Nation Address (SONA)
last July 23, 2018 at the Session Hall of the House of the Representatives Complex in
Constitution Hills, Quezon City. President Rodrigo Duterte was very real or true to the every
huge issues that was happened in the Philippines during his regime. My spirit awake when
President Rodrigo Duterte talked about the main issue in the Philippines which is the illegal
drugs.
In the state like our country there must be a leader like President Rodrigo Duterte who
was very actively maintained or who was always monitor about what was happened to his
country. In his third State of the Nation Address I was very grateful while I read his transcript of
State of the Nation Address because of what his discussion/ topic all about. In his speech he
emphasizes his stand about illegal drugs and about his concern of youth’s in the Philippines in
the future days. He call the attention of mine when he says “Your concern is human rights, mine
is human lives. The lives of our youth are being wasted and families are destroyed and all
because of the chemicals called shabu, cocaine, cannabis, and heroine.” This is the first part of
his speech which called my attention. Another thing he talked was about corruption in our
country must stop because according to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte “corruption is like a
leech that it bleeds the government of funds programmed for its infrastructure and other social
development projects. It saps the morale or the morale of dedicated and honest government
workers.” He hates people who are against his principle, that sample character of a leader must
be the one to hold the government of this country.
Those well known issues in the Philippines are some of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s
speech during his SONA 2018 in which can call the attention of every reader and listener. There
were many issues that President Duterte was talked during his SONA that can proved that he
was really a good leader. But I cite only few. And he deserves such position in the government.

THE TEACHER’S DIARY

READER- RESPONSE CRITICISM APPROACH:

The movie entitled “The Teacher’s Diary” was a nice movie for the teenagers. The
author of the movie was really knowledgeable to create such kind of movie. The movie made
my attention focused to the scene.
In some scene, the author did not able to clarify on what is happening because it’s
something confusing. It’s hard to understand, it takes time for me to understand. For me the
conflict of the scene or movie is not clear and some other part of the element.
Eventually the author really catches the attention of each and every viewer. For making
the movie relatable to the real life/ scenario. Because the movie is just like a true story or based
on reality, it’s because before teachers are really writing a diary for their everyday happened.
Like in the ending, I don’t agree to the author for not making the movie complete. It is
not clearly seen that ending was a happy or sad or neither of the two.
The author also got the idea on how to get the attention of the viewers by not completing
the last part of the movie. He/she is very creative in making films.
