WELCOME
First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit my website
and downloading your free eBook!
I have written this book to help you, as an English learner,
reach a high level of English.
OK! Before we continue… who am I?
My name is Adriana. I am an online English teacher from
Australia. I have been teaching students for over 5 years,
helping them reach fluency and improve their confidence
using the English language.
Also, I am a language learner myself. Living abroad, away
from home, can be very challenging for a lot of language
learners. I understand the difficulties my students face when it
comes to holding small talk in English, understanding slang,
learning expressions, or simply understanding how native
speakers pronounce words!
In this book, I plan to give you tips for how you can combat
the hurdle of learning a new language and using the language
as I did!
As you know, English is a language spoken by many people
across the globe. So, there are thousands of books out there
about reaching English fluency, and if you have been doing
just a tiny bit of research, I am sure that you have stumbled
across many books.

Let’s break the ice; there are no secrets to English fluency. It
is all up to you!
In this book I will show you how you can combat your fears of
speaking English, demolish those boundaries you have
imposed on attaining a high level of English, and coach and
motivate you to build on your speaking skills!
Let’s do this by answer 5 questions which will put you on
your path to English fluency!

1. Why are you studying
English?
Let’s begin by answering the simple, yet so important
question, why are you learning English?
Are you learning English…
 to get a new job?
 to hold presentations in English?
 to meet new friends?
 to travel to new places?
 to enroll into university?
 to migrate to an English speaking country?
 maybe another reason which I left out…..
This question is very important, if not the most important
question.
Without knowing why you are studying English, it is very
hard to work on the vocabulary and the grammar which you
will need in order to speak English effectively and fluently for
your needs!

So, I ask you, why are you learning

English?

2. Have you clearly defined
your goal?
Now that you have answered why you are studying English, it
is very important to clearly define this into a goal.
Try put a time frame on your goal and make a plan how you
will reach your goal.
For example, Mary is learning English. She is an intermediate
learner from Russia, though would like to migrate to Australia
in a year.
Mary has set out her goal that she would like to understand
native speakers and also like to be able to communicate more
effectively.
She has then made a clearly defined plan for this goal.
 every day she will read the newspaper (minimum 15
minutes)
 she will listen to English podcasts (while driving to work)
 she will find a pen pal so that she can use the new words
she is learning. (maintaining contact once a week)
By writing down goals, and sticking to them, we can see
effective results!

Have you written down your goals for

achieving English fluency?

3.0 Have you set realistic
goals?
There is no need to stress. English is a great language and you
can meet lovely people speaking English!
Setting realistic goals will help you on your path to fluency.
There is no point in writing a goal, that you will become fluent
in two months, if you have no prior knowledge of English.
Language learning should be a fun process, something that
you enjoy doing and something that you can relate to. At the
end of the day, you will be speaking in English so it is very
important for you to set goals which will not put you under
pressure and help you improve your skills!

Have you set realistic and attainable goals?

4.0 Study interesting topics
This is the most important tip of all tips!
Why do something, or read something which bores you? If
you do not find something interesting, you most likely will not
recall this information later on in life.
If your goal is to learn Business English, then read articles
related to business in English. This will be both interesting
and useful for you expansion in English knowledge
If you are interested in movies, read movie reviews everyday
day. If you love sports, read the sports section in the
newspaper.
Here are three useful resources where you can find
information to help you find interesting topics:
1. www.youtube.com
2. www.ted.com
3. www.englishteacheradriana.com

What topics will you be reading and

listening about?

5.0 Are you using your
English knowledge?
So many English learners only learn passively, but not
actively. Using your English is such an important aspect of
the learning process!
Many of my students have told me that they feel shy speaking
to people in English, they have no one to speak English with,
it is too expensive to travel to an English speaking country,
and the list goes on….

These are all excuses, if there is a will then there

is a way!
The internet has opened up our horizons connecting people
from all over the world. Go to a social media and find
someone who you can communicate with. In the past, people
would send letters to pen pals across the world, and wait for
weeks for a reply. Today, with the help of face book, twitter,
Kakao talk etc we can connect with anyone, speaking any
language! Find someone with similar interests to you, and
speak in English!

How will you use you English?
