UPDATES ON FERTILIZER PRICES

January 2017

Highlights

 Prices of Urea, Ammosul and Ammophos in the Philippines are higher in January 2017
from their previous month’s levels as most of the regions registered price increments.

 Meanwhile, lower prices of Complete in most of the regions pushed down its dealer’s
price at the national level during the month.

 Relative to January 2016 levels, the four (4) fertilizer grades posted price decreases in
January 2017.

A. UREA
o The country’s average price of Urea at P911.55/sack in
January 2017 increased by 1.68 percent from a
month ago level. This was however, lower by
11.32 percent from January 2016 level.

o Compared with December 2016, prices of Urea went

up in all the regions in January 2017 except Bicol
Region and Zamboanga Peninsula. The highest price
at P1,155.63/sack remained in ARMM while the lowest
price at P795.63/sack was still posted in
SOCCSKSARGEN. Relative to previous year’s levels, all
the regions exhibited lower prices.
B. COMPLETE
o At the national level, the average dealer’s price of
Complete at P1,112.01/sack during the period was
lower by 0.40 percent from December 2016 and by
5.27 percent in January 2016.

o On a monthly basis, price decreases were noted in all

the regions in January 2017 except Ilocos Region,
Central Visayas and ARMM. The lowest price of
P992.00/sack was still observed in SOCCSKSARGEN
while the highest at P1,260.00/sack was noted in
ARMM. Meanwhile, compared with previous year’s
levels, prices declined in all the regions.

C. AMMOSUL
o The average dealers’ price of Ammosul in the
Philippines was recorded at P561.04/sack in
January 2017. This was higher by 0.20 percent from a
month ago level, while it was cheaper by 5.38 percent
from the same month in 2016.

o Measured from a month ago level, ten regions

registered higher prices in January 2017. The highest
price was observed in ARMM at P728.33/sack while
the lowest price was noted in Davao Region at
P451.50/sack. Except ARMM, all the regions registered
price decreases relative to their January 2016 levels.

D. AMMOPHOS
o The national average price of Ammophos at
P924.98/sack in January 2017 was higher by
0.28 percent from previous month’s level. Meanwhile, it
was lower by 6.12 percent from previous year’s record.

o Compared with previous month’s levels, prices of

Ammophos in January 2017 were higher in all the
regions except Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao,
Davao Region and ARMM. The highest price at
P1,098.75/sack was noticed in ARMM while the lowest
at P817.50/sack was recorded in Western Visayas.
Relative to the same month in 2016, downward price
adjustments were posted in all the regions except in
ARMM whose price rose by 0.50 percent.
