Wonder and Wander

When your days seem to go by just as a number,

The heart does not seem to beat its usual fervor,
The mind often blanks out to wander,
Imagines a world filled with things of wonder,
A hilltop reaching the stars to sit on and ponder,
A gentle stream tearing the world asunder,
A tree connecting everything that last forever.
Amidst this vivid imagery filling every quarter,
One wonders what the real world has to offer,
Then wanders in search of a comparable flavour,
Roams the natural wonders for sights to savour,
As footsteps tread across every astute river.
In comparison the reality seems dimmer,
With the occasional rain as well as thunder,
Filled with that very annoying toddler,
But it is here where is written every chapter,
With every word hinting at something deeper,
Causing one to pause in wonder,
Because unlike thoughts, words are forever.
